Let's start with the fact that the yoga instructors are not properly trained. I attended one trial class in which the yoga teacher made repeated mistakes about anatomy. Additionally she was not able to do most of the stretches that she was teaching losing her balance multiple times during the workout. The conversation that she had with Yogi's and her co-workers after the session was very unprofessional and weird. She solicited information about whether the yogis who took the class were angry with her stating that their faces looked angry during the yoga workout. Her co-worker responded by saying that she did a great job by making her Yogi's angry with a challenging workout. I had still considered attending a second class to see if maybe it was an off day until I attempted to pay with cash After a failed venmo attempt. When paying the $10 price for the trial class they were unable to provide me with $10 change. I am extremely confused how you could be running a business with not even $10 worth of change for paying clients. They attempted to give me more than $5 in quarters (and were still short on quarters) until I had to suggest that they borrow money from one of the instructors. Unfortunately, when I arrived home I realized that the venmo had indeed gone through and I had paid twice. Their telephone number listed on Google does not work so I sent an email to which I received a response that I should send a screenshot despite the venmo activity being readily available on the venmo app. After sending the screenshot it's been a week and I still have not received my refund for my overpayment nor an apology for the horrible experience I had. If you are an experienced Yogi I highly suggest you skip this practice all together as they don't know what they're doing. I'm not sure where all of the other stellar reviews are coming from- perhaps the other teachers are better at their practice or this one may have just been drunk last Sunday. What a waste of my time and...
Read moreI've been practicing yoga for a little over a year and it all started at Daya yoga. Of course, I was a little afraid of embarrassing myself but the instructors are kind and each class feels very therapeutic.
Instead of asking students to do something difficult then mention modifications for student who can't following the more experienced people, most instructors start with the baseline pose/movement then challenge students to take it to the next level with more advanced modifications. That was really helpful to me because it was less demoralizing and more motivating to challenge/push myself to the next level than retreating from a more advanced pose that feels out of reach.
Additionally, I feel healthier mentally and physically. I have better awareness of my...
