Diamond Source NYC — Local services in New York

PLEASE READ AND BE AWARE

If i could leave Zero stars I really would, not sure really where to start with this.

Firstly i thought i was going to shop as shown on google, its not an issue but was an office so maybe quite intimidating for some people.

We agreed a deal on an Audemars Piguet Summer edition watch as i was coming from the UK,

I sent Igor clear pictures / videos of the watch front and back he then sent me $1000 deposit i booked my flights to NYC.

The following day after landing i headed to his office showed him the watch, he didn't even get a loupe out to check the watch.

Looked at the back of it and said its not the watch he wanted, he wanted BYBLOS version even though i sent him pictures of the watch prior to leaving the UK! ( not sure why someone would send a $1000, without checking pictures prior especially a watch trader who's buying on behalf of his client).

You can clearly see its not a Byblos version as it hasn't got the stamp at the back of the watch, and not only that there also approximately £20-£30k difference in price. ( please see attachment)

He then said as I have travelled from the UK he'll take the watch for stock but it needs to be cheaper, as its not the watch his client wanted.

I said no as we have agreed on a figure and that is what i wanted, i sent you pictures and videos over.

As you can imagine i was getting flustered and stressed on the whole situation after about an hour we agreed he'll have the watch still.

We agreed prior to me coming he would pay my crypto wallet the $1000 dollars, then the rest to my wallet upon arrival.

Another bombshell was dropped Igor then said he hasn't got the crypto, it would have to be paid via Bank transfer which wouldn't of been an issue if 1. I had of known 2. If he paid me in advance, as it can take 3-5 days to clear. 3. It would of cost me in fees changing currency back, which i didn't filter in for.

I later find out the was trying to escrow a deal with a UK trader, behind my back and the UK trader then pays me after Igor happy with the watch. Again that would not of be a issue either if i was made aware. ( please see the attachment ).

So he was never planning on honouring his word and paying my wallet from the offset.

We finally agreed before me leaving his office he would sort the crypto within the week, as I had a family member out there still who could of done the deal on behalf of me.

I was flying back the next day and still didn't feel at ease, called him and wats app him never answered finally got back to me telling me to take back the watch. ( please see the attachment)

He even had the audacity to ask for his deposit back, which i gave him 80% back as that all i had left in cash on me.

The whole trip cost me a fortune but NYC was a pleasure to see visit and see, just wish it was under different circumstances.

This man / company will get there karma as clean...

My fiancé knew that I had a very particular idea of what I wanted and he made sure to include me in the engagement ring process. We are rookie diamond purchasers and did our research (a lot of it!) and armed with knowledge we decided to give 47th Street a shot. We landed in Diamond Source one evening (yes, they are open to 7PM unlike their neighbors on the block who close up at 4:30PM) and asked to see a diamond close to what I was looking for and they had a couple readily available (uncommon in the DD) and there was one I really liked. I have a hard time making decisions. We came back to Diamond Source to look at the diamond at least three more times... that week. Vlad/Igor never pressured me to make a decision or hurry up. They let me sit there for 30+ minutes (each time) and analyze the diamond over and over and over. They let me take the diamond outside to see it in different light. They let me take pictures. They let me take pictures of the GIA report. I really appreciated their patience and flexibility; it also proved to me that they have nothing to hide and are running a straightforward and honest business. They were happy to let us come to a decision on our own and not under pressure and go back and do homework, look at the stats, and feel comfortable that we were getting a great diamond at an even better value. I know that I was a demanding prospective customer. I really appreciated that Vlad and Igor never made me FEEL like I was being demanding or asking too much.

I rarely write reviews but wanted to share my very positive experience with Diamond Source so others could have the peace of mind and confidence we did. Shopping for a diamond as a first time buyer is not the easiest of things to do – its unknown and has a lot of money and significance tied to it. Initially, I was hesitant to purchase a Rolex online… especially after having had some negative experiences with a couple of watch dealers I’d already reached out to. Most were really pushy and impatient, so then I was anxious about possible additional costs being tacked on at the end, servicing, warranty, authenticity of the watch, you name it; however, I had none of these concerns with Diamond Source NYC. From my first phone call with them, I was at ease. They were completely professional, friendly, and patient in answering my various questions. I never once felt rushed or pressured. In addition to this, they were very prompt in getting back to me on the actual watch I had in mind… not some variation of thereof, as was often the case with other sellers. Diamond Source was able to source the watch immediately… whereas the local Rolex dealer estimated a 4-6 month wait, and the local price was higher, too. The transaction with Diamond Source was seamless and easy. After sizing it to my wrist measurements (truly appreciated this detail), the watch was overnighted via FedEx. It came, as described, complete with box and all of the necessary papers for authentication and warranty from Rolex. I couldn’t be happier. “Thrilled” is not too strong a word! I feel I should add that everyone I dealt with at Diamond Source, including Carlos, Igor, and Jake, were all thoroughly professional and helpful across the board.
