Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. These people are scam artists and master deflectors. We went back and forth with them 5 different times and STILL had to seek another jeweler to properly make and fix my engagement ring. FIVE. 5 different times we showed up the ring was wrong or falling apart. Each time we went back, we were met with Carlos deflecting and never owning up or apologizing and still asking for more money to make changes! No attention to detail. The jeweler himself also clearly doesnât know what heâs doing because the ring fell apart on two separate occasions. We still ended up paying more money to fix everything after already paying almost full price of the ring (we later found out after receiving 3 different statement of values with totally different amounts). The 5 events are as follows: FiancĂ© goes to pick up engagement ring from Carlos. The hidden halo is not on the ring. They remade the ring with hidden halo and my fiancĂ© proposed (3 weeks later than he planned to) December rolls around and I realize Iâm missing a diamond on the band. Next day, another one pops out. The ring warped in 2 months and diamonds started falling out. When we brought it back we were told it should be platinum to be stronger, a bigger size (change from 5.5 to 5 3/4 with beads), and bigger gauge. Was told because I pick things up at work the ring was too dainty for my line of work⊠no apology just told weâll owe money to make those changes even tho the current specs are what Carlos suggested to my fiancĂ©. I come back two weeks later to pick up the ring. The hidden halo was taken off and the ring was still a 5.5 with no beads. Carlos said he was frustrated as well because he didnât know why the jeweler or whoever couldnât follow the order. When looking at the order HE did not write the size change, beads, and because the hidden halo was forgotten by him on the order in the very beginning, they TOOK IT OFF. I was then presented a statement of value for 2,000 dollars for a 2.5 carat natural diamond which they then fixed to be 5 grand over the original. Just making numbers up. At this visit I was told to get a size 6 with a bridge instead of beads. And come back in two weeks. Came back to pick it up, ring wonât even go over my finger the bridge is so big. They take the bridge out on the spot but then I realize the setting is visibly much lower than the original that I loved (probably wasnât written down anywhere so they guessed!) so another week or two to fix. Go to pick it up. Looks like it did at the proposal and we were very happy. 8 days later I realize the band is warping again and the center stone is completely loose in the prongs. We decided weâre not going back to ultimate diamond and sought out another jeweler. There we were given a completely different statement of value. 10,000 DOLLAR DIFFERENCE from the lower statement of value from ultimate diamond, so we completely OVERPAID at ultimate diamond. The new jeweler sized the ring and it comes out to a 6 not a 5 3/4 like we were told. They just took the bridge off and didnât change the size. The new jeweler also showed us that the way the prongs go through the hidden halo is completely messing with the integrity of the setting and ring. So clearly the jeweler has no idea how to make a stable ring. Iâm learning that now reading some other reviews. PALA JEWELRY is who they use. Carlos brought us in to suite 907 down the block to meet the jeweler and it STILL came out wrong and breaking!!! DO NOT COME HERE. SUCKED ALL THE JOY OUT OF THE ENGAGEMENT RING PROCESS AND WAS WITHOUT A RING FOR 2 FULL MONTHS BECAUSE OF THEIR NUMEROUS SCREW UPS. I will make sure not one friend, friend of a friend, or family member ever makes a...
Read moreIf I could give this dealer a 6 stars out of 5, I would. My girlfriend and I decided we would walk into a random diamond district store one Saturday afternoon and we happened to (and luckily) find Ultimate Diamond Co. We met with Diana, who from the start was so personable and easy to work with. For context, I am a young dentist working in NYC as a resident in a hospital setting, and my girlfriend and I were looking for engagement rings. We didn't have much experience with diamonds other than knowing the basics about the 4 C's and an idea of the type of ring my girlfriend wanted. So Diana spent a substantial amount of time with us explaining any and everything that should be considered. We had been to another dealer before Ultimate Diamond Co that utilized the classic butter-her-up type of sales tactic, and after showing us rings I couldn't afford, they said, "You're a dentist. You make plenty," not recognizing my position as a resident in a hospital. In contrast, Diana's communication style matched what I look for perfectly. She gave us absolutely no pressure, was transparent, respectful, and clear in her explanations. As you can see from the photo attached, I can be incredibly thorough, using 3.75x magnification loupes that I use for dentistry and my macro photography set-up. To my surprise, Diana welcomed it. Her expertise in the field and years of experience were apparent, and she recognized that all clients should feel confident in their decision about a diamond. My favorite thing about her communication style was that she offered perspectives that we had never considered, even if those perspectives wouldn't lead to the biggest most expensive ring purchase. It was clear that she wanted us to make the most well-informed and educated decision we could possibly make. After two days spent back-to-back with her, my girlfriend and I decided on a ring that we liked and received a price quote. We left the store saying, "We loved Diana, she was so transparent, honest, and helpful." I mentioned to my girlfriend that Diana had said all the right things to earn our trust, and we loved her professionalism and communication style. But the reality was, we didn't know her, and we didn't know if the price was as fair as she made it seem. A couple of days later, we met with a friend of a friend who works in the diamond industry. We showed her all of the price breakdowns, specs, dimensions of the stone, etc that we received from Ultimate Diamond Co. Our friend was honest with us and confirmed that the prices were extremely competitive, since Ultimate Diamond Co is not only a retailer but also a wholesaler and is therefore able to offer clients more competitive prices. They also confirmed that, as Diana had told us, the stone we selected was a "unicorn", and that because of the dimensions, the stone appeared far larger than its actual carat size. Because of our friend's expertise, it validated our trust in Diana, and that evening I put a deposit down on the stone. When we went, we had just missed Diana before she left, so we met with Ronny, Bill, and Danielle. I have to say that I did not expect to feel so familial with the staff when 4 days prior, they were all strangers. They were all so personable and easy-going as well. A week later, I came back to Ultimate and we finalized the setting and the ring. My soon to be fiancee and I cannot recommend Diana and the staff at Ultimate Diamond Co enough - they will show you the attention, the clarity, the honesty, and the pricing you need to make what normally would be a very stressful purchase one of the most enjoyable and confident purchases...

I would say that I am not your typical customer. We went to 15 jewelers between NYC, NJ, and CT, basically interviewing them and reviewing their selection and inspecting their quality and craftsmanship. Questions if we were âin the businessâ were commonâŠno, we are not in the business lol. My fiancĂ© and I are just extremely meticulous, learning everything from raw material sourcing to wedding ring manufacturing tools and methods (you should have seen us buy a house).
The People: Jane, Ronny, and Brian are the folks who I worked with. From the moment we met them to the day we purchased the ring, they all were extremely pleasant, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. Working with these three, you get a true family business feel. We were designing our own band which required a lot of coordination and communication. Jane was my main point of contact. She responded quickly, providing recommendations and advice to work within my budget and timeline. Even when we showed up with a 20pg PowerPoint with our design guidelinesâŠthey smiled, cracked a few welcomed jokes, and said âOkay, letâs see what you have here.â. I will be going back for years to come!
The Quality: I have found that bringing a high-powered loop to jewelers tends to put them on edge. Jane and Ronny welcomed my crazy questions and taught me even more. After seeing 15 locations across 3 states, I can say confidently, Ultimate Diamond was by far the best. The method in how they hold their diamonds, the smooth metal work, and precision, was beyond compare. Other jewelers said that our engagement ring design was âtoo riskyâ, and from looking at their craftsmanshipâŠI would agree. Ultimate Diamond appreciated the difficulty, then showed me a ring where they did something similarâŠthey are true professionals. Two years and many drops and hard bangs latter, the ring is in perfect shape, not a loose stone, prong, or dent.
The Diamond: Jane and team worked really hard for me to get a rare find, collectors grade diamond and sold it for a truly competitive price. We both worked as a team to identify the qualities that were essential to me, then the extras if possible. Level of detail? Weâre talking shopping for diamonds with the right flaw type and internal positioning good. Jane and team were on-point. They did better than I could have ask for.
The Result: We now have a custom designed, flawlessly manufactured ring, with a collectorâs grade diamond at a price that we couldnât get anywhere we looked.
There is even more I could write about the ring design process with Jane and Brian, but I think you get the point.
Jane, Brian, and Ronny Thank you! You are awesome and I will most...
