NEVER NEVER NEVER BOOK THIS HOTEL. We booked it through booking because GREAT PRICE and GREAT LOCATION. We checked in, left the room to get dinner (20 minutes) came back to the room with a BEDBUG on the pillow. Our skin crawled and immediately called receptionist to switch rooms but unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) they were fully booked. They sent the housekeeper to our room and he was holding Raid. Long story short, we left the room, demanded to check out and asked to resolve this issue. But because it’s done through booking.com they couldn’t refund us and we would have to file the report. I airdropped the image of the bedbug to the receptionist and she was nice (not their fault the rooms were infested) and said she would escalate it to her manager and left a note on my booking to approve for a refund. I filed a report with booking.com and have not heard back for a month. I had to call booking.com thrice just to follow up, also sent proof of the bedbug and call the hotel to respond to booking.com. A month later, the hotel did not take accountability and insist they had no bedbugs. Even when the booking.com agent says IT IS A BEDBUG but the hotel did not agree to a refund. It was our first time booking that hotel and NEVER AGAIN. EDIT: contacted the hotel 3 times by email, 4 times on phone (brush off the shoulder response and would have to call during specific times - bruh it’s Q4, we have jobs to keep up), and chat service through booking.com later, had the refund approved on 16th and retracted on the 21st. I had been patient with the process and Booking.com’s intervention but no accountability on the hotel’s end and no help from Booking.com as well. I’ve filed a report with FTC for dishonest business conduct as well at Department of Sanitation to check the building as it is in between 2 large businesses. STAY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

While the room was nicely decorated and when you could find them the staff was nice. However my bed sheets were old and had stains, as well as particles of food were in the bed. We did not eat there, nor did we have any food with us.i did grab some of the nuts from the mini bar that morning, not when I came in that night. The soap they provided had been opened and used already. Thankfully I had my own. I tried calling the front desk several times as well as trying to find them down stairs. No on was available. Thankfully my fiance and I was able to sleep on the couch thing, but it was horribly uncomfortable. When I spoke the front desk that morning, I showed them the pictures of the dirty sheets, he told me not to worry about the payment for the nuts and that he would see speak with housekeeping nothing more. Fast forward almost 2 weeks later, they charged my card for an extra 19.60 and a charge for 11.80.which would have been the price of the nuts that I got from the mini bar. It took a week and a half for the incidental charge of a $100.00 and I only recieved 88.23. If they were going to still charge me for the nuts there was no reason why it couldn't have been taken out of the incidental money. I was very very upset with having to go through this inconvenience at the hotel and then come home to a totally different state and have issues with my card being carded incorrectly.

Our stay at City Club Hotel was the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. The room was visibly deteriorated, and that same night, the toilet broke and dirty water flooded the floor. We called reception multiple times, but they kept saying there was nothing they could do and that no room changes were available. I even asked if I could just leave and get a refund, and they told me I had to wait until the next morning to speak with the manager. They eventually sent the bellboy not maintenance who cleaned the floor using only towels, without gloves, and with no proper equipment or cleaning staff. The issue wasn’t resolved until after midnight. We had also paid for breakfast the next morning, but it was shameful. There was barely any variety, and even the fridge with yogurt was locked with a key. Everything was extremely limited and controlled. The next morning, the manager’s attitude was rude and dismissive. We had to fight for hours to get only a partial refund. No apology, no accountability. Terrible experience. Would never recommend or return. Plus: The air conditioning made a horrible noise all night long that made it impossible to sleep.

My son and I spent one night in this hotel and it was a horrible experience. I asked if we could get a late check out because we are both disabled and I was told that if we go past the noon check out time we would be charged $75. What hotel doesn't give a late checkout when requested or charges you for a late checkout? Furthermore the man at the front desk told me well you should have enough time to check out. Firstly that was an extremely rude answer even if I wasn't disabled. Secondly I asked for the late check out because it takes us longer to do things. Not only was the front desk worker discriminatory has no clue how long it takes us to do things. I even asked if the manager/owner could be called and ok a late checkout and he came back saying no or I would be charged the $75. So don't expect help from this hotel if you are disabled because the entire organization is discriminatory towards the disabled. The continental breakfast was the highlight, but that's being gracious to say. Then the elevator broke as we were about to go back up to our room. We had to wait a half hour for it to be fixed. They were "gracious" enough to extend our check out by a half hour. That half hour derailed our plans before and after the check out. The entire situation left a sour taste in my mouth so I decided not to take a shower (which was also the only part of the hotel room that looked semi-inviting.) If I did we would not have enough time to get ready and also that we could just leave as soon as possible but I was shaking so much from the entire experience I had to stay for about a half hour after that and I was still shaking when we left the hotel. I had to get our car out of the garage and I had to stay parked on the street until my body was no longer shaking so I could drive home. So the plans for the remainder of our day before and after the noon checkout had to be canceled. Furthermore and lastly the room was disgusting. Holes in and on the unsightly dirty walls. Grungy replacement bathroom floor tiles. A smell of urine. Etc. The bed was comfy. I'f you are looking for a hotel that meet the basic standards and accommodations of even the dingiest motels this is not it. When we were leaving the front desk man. Said oh you can leave already? With a snotty tone and I said yes I no longer want to remain at this hotel. This was...

The stay was good, the location was excellent, but the morning bellman was extremely rude. I wanted to store my luggage and he asked what time I will be collecting them. I said around 5 pm to which he stated he might not be there. I asked if that's an issue, he said he might sell the bags. I know bellmen expect a tip, but I am not going to tip a bellman who says he's gonna sell my bags (he also asked me to bring the bags to the locker room, which is fine, but I tip less in these cases). Later that day I collected the bags, and the evening bellman was extremely polite - opened the doors, brought the bags, politely greeted - everything a bellman should do - and I did tip him. The next day, I again stored the bags in the morning, same bellman same behavior. He again threatened that he might sell the bags. Basically he was expecting a tip because he wouldn't be on duty when I return, which is his problem, not mine. Moreover, if a bellman is threatening to sell my bags, I will never tip him. He also said "Are you new to NYC? Too many newcomers in NYC". He also left my bags in the corridor for about 10 minutes (I know this because I went to the rest room in the lobby). We came back in the evening and the evening bellman had a tough time finding our bags, since he had shuffled them across rooms. Tips are earned by the way you behave, and are not to be given by default. Having such a bellman is extremely unwelcoming for the hotel. I'm sure the management will want to take some action here. The two ladies at the reception in the evening were very sweet and helpful. They heard my concerns and asked me to post a review. But the lady in the morning (a different lady) definitely would have heard these comments as the bellman was very loud in letting me know that he'll sell my bags. One would hope that she would intervene here. Basically, I would recommend this hotel jusy because of it's location, but good luck not having your bags stolen (or "sold") with such a...

Location: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Cleanliness: 2/5 Quality: 2/5

Great location, average service, with the details leaving a lot to be desired. If you are looking for a wallet friendly hotel just for sleep while you explore the city and you aren't too concerned about the small things, this is a great spot for you. If you are a little more detail oriented and want to enjoy a thorough, quality experience, you may want to pass on this one.

I'm always going to try to get the best bang for my buck and with a price of about $120/night in the middle of midtown, I was definitely eyeing City Club Hotel. The building is gorgeous and well decorated, and there are plenty of high end bars and restaurants right in the vicinity as well as the subway a block down. The pictures and descriptions online convey a beautifully maintained, high end hotel with good amenities, but I'm sad to say these descriptions are probably 30-40 years old. As they say, the devil is in the details.

I stayed in a queen interior room which had a full bathroom with tub, a desk, and a daybed couch built into the wall, a tv, mirror, and a tiny closet with a stocked mini fridge--the mini water bottles started at $5. The bed linens, shower, and toilet were all sparkling clean, but I wouldn't allow my bare skin to touch the floors, blankets, desk chair or daybed. There was a scary deep hole in the bathroom floor and the linoleum tiles were all peeling up. The suede-like cushion on the daybed was grimy and saggy, the wallpaper was dirty. The tv was mounted in front of the mirror which rendered it useless, though thankfully the bathroom had a full wall mirror. The only window was literally in the shower but it was broken. All the corners and seams of the walls were soggy and warped. It was not a comfortable place to spend time and the wifi was so slow I gave up immediately.

Overall the stay was fine, nothing horrendous, but also nothing great. I...
