I am giving a “three out of five star rating,” only because I was there twice, once for the initial procedure and then a follow up to do some minor corrections/touch-ups.

Although I waited a long time to see the doctor during both visits, the first experience, in my opinion, did not go as smoothly as planned. I personally just think it was a case of bad timing since the appointment was in December and very close to the holidays- naturally that is a “bad” time for mostly everyone. Many people (including myself) are a bit stressed and overwhelmed during that time and tend to feel a bit rushed and overwhelmed.

However, my last visit (which was way after the holidays) was very pleasurable- the office had a completely different atmosphere. All in all, everyone was relaxed, the mood was somewhat tranquil, and the staff really went out of their way to accommodate me and my spouse. They truly went above and beyond.

The second time around, I was very nervous (for some reason) and almost “chickened out,” but Bernadette took time out of her busy schedule to give me a “pep talk” and listen to me vent- until I felt comfortable enough to move forward with my procedure, it really meant a lot to me! Joe was not there, but he also put a lot of time in with me to assist and address my many concerns!

For this procedure, I was given a local anesthesia; hence, I was awake during the operation. Dr. Steinbrech (and the assisting nurses) talked to me the whole time and really put my mind at ease. The conversations we had, were not only helpful for easing my nerves, they were also extremely sincere and engaging. I really felt like I got to know the doctor both personally and professionally; I truly believe this act of earnestness unveiled Dr. Steinbrech affection, not only for his work as a surgeon, but the sincerity and devotion he has to his patients; for their health, happiness, and overall well-being!

I had a 360 lipo abdominoplasty with Dr. Douglas Steinbrech, and while there were some positive aspects to my experience, there were also several issues that I feel need to be addressed.

First, Dr. Steinbrech and his nursing staff were both very kind and professional. They made me feel comfortable and provided great care during the procedure. However, I was disappointed by the way the procedure itself was explained. While Dr. Steinbrech is clearly skilled, he didn’t take the time to thoroughly explain the details of the surgery or potential risks, which left me with some unanswered questions and feeling a bit uninformed.

While the results were generally ok, I did experience a complication after the surgery, which I understand can sometimes happen. However, the way it was handled left me feeling unsupported. I developed a “water balloon” effect in my back, and when I reached out, I felt that my concerns were brushed aside and not treated with the attention I expected. It was downplayed as if it wasn’t a big deal, despite the physical and emotional discomfort it caused me.

Additionally, I trusted Dr. Steinbrech’s recommendation to inject fat into my chest, but unfortunately, the result was uneven, leaving me with one side larger than the other. I felt that the outcome could have been better, and I was disappointed in the final result.

Years after the procedure, I continued to notice unwanted fat located on my side, and when I reached out to Dr. Steinbrech about it, he was unwilling to acknowledge the problem. I had to go to another plastic surgeon to have it addressed.

Overall, while Dr. Steinbrech is skilled, my experience with him was marred by poor communication, lack of proper post-op care, and issues with my chest fat transfer. Given my experience and the follow-up care I had to seek elsewhere, I would not...
