I rarely leave reviews, but after my recent experience with this doctor’s office, I felt compelled to share. From start to finish, it was an absolute nightmare, and I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Scheduling Person Lied About Insurance Coverage I called multiple times prior to scheduling an appointment to check if the doctor and practice was in-network for my insurance. The scheduling person assured me multiple times that they were, so I moved forward with booking. Fast forward to my visit, and I find out after the appointment that the doctor is, in fact, out-of-network. When I tried to get clarification on why I was misinformed, I was met with no clear answers.
Out of Network Labs When it came to my labs, I had explicitly asked the nurse if their lab was in network and if not I could take the prescription to a lab I knew to be in network. She just said, "Ok, don't worry about it." Despite repeating this request, the labs were sent to an out-of-network provider anyway, which only added to my stress and frustration when I received a huge bill.
Billing Office Disaster Now, the worst part—dealing with billing. I tried to contact them multiple times to straighten out the charges over the course of several months, but I was either told I would be called back (with not one call back) and finally spoken to very harshly by Dan in billing. He cancelled my bill with them but says he cannot help with the lab bills of over $500! The staff seemed completely uninterested in helping, and every time I called, they either didn’t answer or wouldn’t return my messages. I felt totally gaslit and helpless.
In short, this place is a mess. I’ve never encountered such a lack of professionalism, miscommunication, and sheer incompetence at a healthcare office. If you value your time, money, and sanity, do yourself a favor and find a more reliable and trustworthy office. I’ve never been so disappointed with a medical practice in my life. The sad part is Dr. Michel is a gem, but the way Rosh MFM structures their business and hires/trains their front line staff is severely lacking in patient care and any form of quality service. WOULD NOT RETURN...
Read moreUghs I really want to like this place but just been having bad experiences with the front desk staff and I see can it frustrates the lady that does sonograms as well. I went into my appointment but they lost my referral I had to wait over two hours for them to try to find it and they couldn't so they had to contact my doctors office to get a new one. (my doctor is only in one day a week so another doctor in the practice had to send over a new one. such a mess) I had pleasant experience with the sonogram lady before but this appointment was different she seemed upset and seemed like she rushed through the whole thing. my husband and I spent about ten minutes in there. I also didn't get all my pictures when I left I realized we only got pictures of one baby and not both. I could feel the vibes off of the lady. She was given two papers one for me and I guess for someone else she was going to have me wait more but I told I been waiting two hours. I felt she had to rush my appointment because the front desk staff messed everything up and had to make up the time. I really do enjoy her I just knew it was the front desk staff mistake that trickled down to her. I am hoping my next visit is pleasant I am pretty much stuck here for the time being because my doctor can't find another place that accepts my insurance :( The ladies who do the sonograms are nice the front desk people don't seem to know how to do there jobs or least one of them doesn't.
(I almost forgot to add about the phone. 67th street location is impossible to get ahold of ever! everytime I call to make appointment no one picks up or you are on hold forever. I call 9/10 times get transferred to Madison location and they book my appointments. This has to be frustrating for that office to pick up another...
Read moreAs a Black woman, selecting an OBGYN is critically important. My husband and I both say this to any BIPOC folks, “DO NOT go here.” Very unprofessional experience with Dr. Fein as well as the office. The doctor had not reviewed my chart prior to meeting with my husband and I. She said I should’ve done the bloodwork and urine while waiting to see her. I stated we had been waiting 2 hours, and her staff did not ask us to do so. She said that’s too much to ask of them? Dr. Fein kept referring to IVF as the INFERTILITY treatments which regardless of the reason for doing ivf (ours was not infertility but an auto immune disease), is very poor language to use with a pregnant patient. She stated that I had a cyst on my ovary. I was shocked as I have been under the care of NYU fertility for months and when I inquired further, she ended up stating, “I probably shouldn’t have said anything at all. It’s nothing.” My mouth was to the floor. My husband and I said “no we should know if there is an abnormal finding…” she said “well it’s not really a cyst”?!? Called back 4 days later as I hadn’t received bloodwork results. They said it takes a week to get multiple blood test results, call back later. I can assure you, it does not take a week to get a progesterone result...
