Duane Reade — Local services in New York

My experience with this location has always been tragic. The Express Pick Up Line for the pharmacy is not express. You can download the Walgreens app, pay in advance, and you will STILL have to wait because there is always ONE person working the check out and their system is almost always down or they start late because of an emergency so even if your medication is “ready” via the app the store representatives will tell you otherwise.

There is pretty much almost always an issue, whether it be a line, or an incredibly long wait or, general staff are not highly communicative. Additionally, their signage is wrong. As of March 31st, 2021 the store’s signage stated covid19 vaccines were not available at this location however the clerk at the pharmacy asked if we were here for a vaccine. If you want high quality commercial or same day printing do not use Walgreens/Duane Reade. Took 48 hours to have an order ready that was suppose to be done in an hour because of faulty equipment. After being bounced around from store to store, I landed on with Rod who was absolutely amazing. Store manager Carolyn, lacked empathy and compassion even though I had been in the store for an hour and late to an event I needed the prints for. Never asked for a discount, only to take the faulty print in order to have my completed order until I could have them reprinted since I was running late for the event. Location with a huge parking lot. Has a wide selection of greeting cards, snacks and items for quick gifts like candles, travel games and a variety of magazines. It's opened 24 hours in case you need meds, vitamins, pedialite and other medical needs. The pharmacist isn't too wise, they have no clue about meds or vitamins. I told them I was allergic to pineapple and she was trying to sell me a vitamin with that ingredient. I could not find Hanukah wrapping paper here, but they did have a good selection of Halloween costumes and put them half price on Oct 31. Just in time for my party.
