AAA Brooklyn — Local services in New York

*STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRANCH.

At 10am I called AAA to replace a lost license at this Branch, to which the 4pm time slot was offered to me. After speaking with 3 AAA representatives, I confirmed my apt then arrived to the location at 4:06pm.

The office was empty, like No customers inside at all. When I got to the front, I was told that I can't be seen, because Dmv services ended at 4pm. No matter how much I pleaded my story, showed them confirmation emails, mentioned that I am a Music teacher and that it was hard for me to get another day off, & mentioned that it was an AAA representative that gave me the 4pm time, they DID NOT CARE. Upon speaking to one of the female managers, it was as if she could care less about my issue. After awhile, she got an attitude, walked away and disappeared in the back, never to be seen again. It came off as if they were trying to leave for the day and did not want to be bothered with me. They even took another customer in my booth knowing it was a quick transaction, and dealt with him in front of my face. One employee kept trying to convince me to reschedule several times to another day in the week, when I kept telling her my Teaching Job would not allow it. I called the same number I used to make the apt while I was in the store. Even the phone reps Couldn't understand why they couldn't take me & kept apologizing.

I am COMPLETELY shocked that this is the Same AAA, that I've been dealing with for YEARS, could treat me like this. I was nothing but respectful.

I called another AAA site and they told me that it was a shame what I went through & that should've NEVER happened. They even tried to convince me to come to their site for better treatment/customer service.

This review is long overdue!! The service provided by the staff and overall welcoming nature was beyond 5 stars. The patience shown to my Mom and I from Star, Garfield, and other staff members (unfortunately didn't obtain their names) was truly appreciated 💛. I don't make it a habit of bad mouthing anyone because everyone has their day. But with that being said, the difference between the "help" received from multiple DMV customer service representatives, and the AAA Ralph Avenue staff was immediately felt (literally upon entrance). They actually wanted to help my Mom and I understand and work through the transactions. Double-checking anything they were unsure about. I sincerely appreciate AAA offering the DMV service through their offices. Unfortunately, meeting empathetic individuals seems to be far and few between these days. Although the situation my Mom and I were dealing with started out as highly stressful. I am truly grateful to have met the staff members at the AAA Ralph Avenue office along my path. Our visit was very satisfying; the place is clean and well organized. The staff exuded a genuine willingness to accommodate. Stopped by to acquire an international driver's permit, and the courteous and knowledgeable staff worked harmoniously together ensuring swift and efficient service. I brought in my own photos, Charity made sure they were cut appropriately and addressed all of our questions.

One notable aspect we observed was the presence of two distinct photographing backgrounds - tailored for both international driver's permits and DMV identification, showcasing their attention to detail. Furthermore, the personalized touch of being addressed by name added an extra layer of hospitality to the overall experience.
