I have been to Edwin’s twice before for shoe needs. They’ve done a phenomenal job and I should have left it at that. I mentioned having a suede coat that I needed cleaned and was reassured they were up for the task. My coat that was originally light blue with fluffy fur was returned in an irredeemable state. When calling and complaining after the original cleaning they tried to rectify the situation by sending the jacket out. Unfortunately the jacket will probably never be what it was. The once soft and fluffy coat is tight hard and discolored. I appreciate them trying to fix the issue out of their overhead but it simply did not work. Had he not been confident that he could have cleaned the coat, I would have HAPPILY bought it elsewhere. Now what’s done is done. I was in dire need of help as I have a pair of leather shoes that had deep punctures and tears. I wanted to salvage these shoes and another shoe repair could not help, so I turned to Edwin's Shoe Repair on Wyckoff Ave. for immediate care. After assessing the damage, Edwin was very clear on what he could do and explained the work in detail, which I very much appreciated. He was very accommodating. Honestly I thought these shoes could not be saved, the damage was that extensive. But after Edwin did his work, the shoes were completely restored and they look brand new, as if they weren't even damaged in the first place. As I told him afterwards, he did a magnificent job. A friend suggested this place since I live in Bushwick and was looking for a shoe cobbler to add sole protectors to my shoes. I got my first pair of Margiela Tabi shoes for Christmas, and because they’re the most expensive shoes I’ve ever owned, I wanted to make sure the soles were protected before walking around in them. I was nervous about taking them anywhere since they were practically brand new—I had only worn them once before bringing them here. They did an incredible job adding the sole protectors without compromising the rest of the shoe.
