Update: This place fell off sadly, got food poisoning after ordering here for years even after moving away from the area. This place is one of the best spots in New York City hands down. I've been so several all over and none comepare to this place and one other on Nostrand, they are titans of the Mexican cuisine. My pictures are horchata, Chips and guacamole with a size of extra guac, Chicken Flautas and a Steak Chimichanga meal. I normally can't pass up steak or chick Tostadas but today I did. Have fun finding what you love best.

Service was good. The place itself was without heat so I was super cold while we waited for our food. Then the food came and it was served on a plastic plate which was disappointing because here I am going to a restaurant to eat or taco place I would think I be served on a regular plate at least.

One of my Mexican friends recommended here long time ago and we've been going there since then. They have the best mole de enchiladas, fried taco, horchata and more. Glad that they survived the pandemic. Long live Cocoyuc!

If you do not speak Spanish, I would avoid this place. Me and my wife walked in at 6, we were handed menus, and were never spoken to again. We waited 45 minutes with no water or anything. I watched a little Spanish speaking lady walk in and get a menu, drink and her order in within 10 minutes. She walked in 30 minutes after us... Every time our young, terrible, racist waitress wearing an all black outfit walked passed us to give service to other people, she would lock eye contact with me and passively aggressively look down. So eventually we walked out. She even walked by us as we were walking out, she accidentally made another awkward eye contact, and once again passively aggressively look down and brisk past to give service to the people that were worth it. The thing is, I could care less if you only serve Spanish speaking people, just put a sign out front if that’s the case, don’t let me sit there all day wasting my time for no reason. So again, unless you speak Spanish, because your a hassle if you don’t, I would avoid this place like the plague. Unless you like sitting at a table, staring at your partner with an empty stomach, in that case, I would highly recommend this terrible place. FYI my wife appears white but actually speaks very fluent...

Horrible service. The food is usually ok. I went there last week with a big group & we ordered. They took our drink order & bought it out. Almost ONE hour later we were waiting for our food so my husband went to ask and the lady tells him that they hadn't even started our order!!!!!! I will never go there again. They get bombarded with delivery orders and decide to get those out of the way instead of the people that are actually in the restaurant. It sucks that when we got there it was almost empty but when we decided to leave some of the people that had just arrived had their food already!!! If you're busy let people know so they don't wait a whole hour for food that isn't even cooking yet! There are way better Mexican food restaurants around. Honestly if I could give them zero...

I always order in so this review is mostly about the quality of the food, as I haven’t dealt much with the staff. However the cashier who takes my order is nothing but nice and respectful, and the delivery guy is the same way except for one time a different delivery guy came he was all mad and rude but I guess it was just that kind of day. Anyways the food always arrives on time and it’s never soggy or cold and I think the portions of the food are perfect for the price and even the tacos come in good conditions, I do have to say I never really order on busy nights (like weekends) so that may be a factor in my food always arriving in good conditions, but the taste is great the nachos could be better, with better toppings but I think overall it’s authentic...
