The place overall believe or not is not that bad. Kitchen and clinic staff are great. Food is good. I remember reading the reviews asking for you to bring your own toilet paper and wipes. While I was there they never ran out of toilet paper although it was low in the evening. If you can afford it get your own. Some staff have a bit of a bad attitude, just be grateful to have 3 meals a day and a bed to sleep in. If you have a cell or charger please don't leave it on your bed, that's a hot commodity and might get stolen. They have a list of stuff they don't advise you to have and that might get stolen. Nail clippers, anything that comes in a glass container is considered contraband and you will lose it and not get it back (this includes perfumes) Just do what's right and do everything you are...

They provide food, drinks, formula, diapers and baby food for you while you wait. The process can take a while but the earlier you show up the better, they are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. If you aren't approved they can move you every 10 days and most places don't let you pack your own things they just throw it all into garbage bags so any time you have an appointment I recommend you bring whatever you might need for 48 hours in case something goes wrong. As long as you get all your paper work in and you become eligible they help you get on your feet and most of the family shelters are pretty nice with an exception of a couple. And you can be placed in any borough regardless of where you used to live, but overall a good experience and great help getting back...

They provide u with food but please!!! If u are going to this place, please go early!!! It will be wayyy better but the only negative thing i have to say about this place is the wait!!! U will be there 4ever waiting for your paper work to be set b4 u get placed!!! If u are considering going, go with alot of PATIENCE because the wait is ridiculously long!!! Smh i went early n was done with everything, only had to go downstairs to get discharged with my placement!! I was sitting there with my son from 10am waiting n they finally got my paper work through by 5pm smfh, we waited all this time to be placed!! The wait is Ridiculous!!
