DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY‼️‼️ THIS PLACE IS EXPENSIVE AND FULL OF AMATEURS. Came here once 5 years ago and now I remember why I never came back. I came in today for Mother's Day to get pampered, I was so excited. The lady doing my pedicure handed me a flyer for my options of pedicures. I decided on the Tea Tree Pedicure for $33. I asked the lady to please make my water nice and hot, but it wasn't. I told her the water was cold, and she warmed it up, but not much. She didn't clean under my nails, nor did she cut off my cutiles fully. Another young lady approaches & starts on my nails. So I just layed back & enjoyed my foot message and let her do her thing. Once I was done, they told me my total was $109. I gave $10 tip. They added an additional $19 for gel that they charge $10 at any other salon in NY. So I paid a total of $119 for a mediocre pedicure in cold water and nails that looked like they were done by a 5 year old. Sherlene, the manager, argued back and forth with me the entire time. She would not admit that the nails were poorly done and just not a good-looking set. She refused to give me a refund and instead proceeded to do an art project to fix my nails over the girls' work. Once she was done I told her that she should remove the photos in her window as she is falsely advertising someone else's work, and no one in her salon knows how to do a professional set of nails. She told me that it's because my hands are different from those in the window. I told her she was delusional. Not once did she apologize, and she even huffed in frustration when I told her that I wanted her to add extensions to all my nails if she wasn't going to cut them off and re do them. Doing nails is an art. Shaping nails takes skill and patience, and once you have mastered your craft, you can do a clean and beautiful set on any shape of hands. Clearly, Sharlene is just as much of an amateur as the staff. She hires. Take your job seriously, train your girls and maybe your customers will come back again and you wont have to be falsely advertising someone elses work on your window and charging such ridiculous prices for the terrible work you and your staff provide, robbing the women in your community. Do better. Personally, I will never go back. Worst Mother's...
Read moreI began going to Genial Nails after I stopped going to Lily Nails a few blocks away. One of the reasons why I decided to try their service was because I wanted to have access to a nail salon that was near my home. I would see Shirlene for the gel powder manicure. Things went bad when she became inconsistent with the quality of service she provided. I continued to return to the shop thinking perhaps she was too busy and didn’t have enough staff. After returning a few times, I began to notice that she was stand offish with Black women and very friendly with the Latinas that would come into the shop. I also have seen her husband Kevin who is a nail technician, throw towels across the shop nearly missing clients, when he was asked to correct his work. He always seemed very angry, disgruntle and unable to take direction very well. Honestly, he seemed to just want to do the bare minimum and get clients out his chair. Quite often, in a rude, abrasive he and rough manner. At times, I would go in requesting a pedicure and noted under aged teenagers doing them. Needless to say, they had little experience and customers always complained, prompting Shirlene to leave her customers in the midst of their service, to direct the young girls with simple task such as cutting cuticles. Once, I requested a pedicure and the young girl doing it left my feet with lumpy nail polish and uncut cuticles. I asked Shirlene to have someone with experience to do my feet; Unfortunately, the only other person available was another under aged girl doing a pedicure on a customer who was complaining about the same thing. On another occasion, Shirlene did my nails and I walked out the shop with the gel powder almost 0.5 centimeters away from my cuticles with dried acetone all over my hands........Smh. Overall, the management is unconcerned with quality and more interested in generating money. I will not be...
Read moreDo not come here. Love there pediaxures. But also very rushed you have to be on time on pediacurist so they’re not skipping over any steps. They will not clean ur cuticles and cut and file nails uneven. When you find your person there stick to that ONE person cus most of them don’t know what they’re doing but Shirley.
Did my nails two nails broke within 3 days of me doing my nails. Acrylic and gel polishes are very cheap. Still not two weeks of doing my nails I went back fixed the two and 3 days later another broken all within 7 days. I’m upset I have an event to go to.
I paid for two gel manicures for my children who are trained with getting their nails done often. Gel polish only last one day was off once the girls showered. These children did not pick off There nails and they were very upset. My one child was like she never seen that happen after all the nail salons she been too.
