Hello everyone...
If there's one thing I know for sure...It's that all my locksmith and hardware needs are satisfied at Star Gate & Empire Locksmith in The Bronx, located under the El (#2 train).
First of all...let me just say... this professionally managed and serviced establishment has never let me down. And, I can say that because I've lived in this neighborhood well over twenty years, and going strong. Even when I lived at my previous residence... and with a hardware store on the corner, and three down the block...I still made it my business to trek over to Star Gate & Empire Locksmith.
My first service job from Star Gate & Empire Locksmith was when my mother was going through the final stages of Alzheimer's. I needed to refurbish her entire three family house, so she could come home and live in her loving place of dwelling until the end. but, I needed for her to feel safe. So, although there were a plethora of hardware stores in Mommie's Area...I searched and found Star Gate & Empire Locksmith on White Plains RD in The Bronx.
We spoke for A while. We told them what we wanted and they told us what they could do, and more. After feeling reassured and comfortable with their promised level of service, I hired them to erect wrought ironed gates along the boundaries of her 5,000 sq. ft. home, all of the banisters, all of the window gates for all three floors, and wrought iron security storm doors for the front and back of her home.
Growing up, I remember that Mommie was always a sticker about safety. She bolted down every window, and they remained that way from a child of eleven until the time came when, as a grown woman, I now had to demolish and redo her entire home. So, after years of delapidation and mold, Mommie came home, and the first thing she saw was all of the safety provisions applied to her home by Star Gate & Empire Locksmith... and she almost cried.
Fast forward to present day. I'm now living in the neighborhood of Star Gate & Empire Locksmith, and whenever I need them, they are there for me...for us...for everyone. Its been A decade since Star Gate & Empire Locksmith erected all of that beautiful wrought ironed work. Mommie passed away with A smile on her face and security in her heart. We no longer have that house. But, if you drive through University Avenue, you'll see all of their work standing to this day.
When I locked myself "IN" my apartment, after a delivery person came in with groceries and slammed my door behind her, (don't ask)... Mickey sent Jeff, and within minutes he saved us. We were free, and in minutes, Jeff replaced the old lock with a wonderful new and safe lock.
When it comes to reviews... don't let them deter you from coming over to see Mickey And His Brother Jeff. Those two guys are the nicest, most honest, professional and compassionate individuals I've ever come across under the category of store owners.
But people are people, and you can never please all of the people all of the time. Trust me...I know this to be true. I'm an author. So, you may see the occasional 1 star review...but that's primarily due to their own preconceived desires of demanding all store owners and their staff to bow down and kiss their feet upon entering.
Some customers expect unreasonable discounts. Some customers even get upset if there's a brief language barrier. But America is a melting pot of hearts. And, having a store owner and his staff understanding and speaking three languages, what more do you need? Some customers get upset when the store has to order a product no longer in stock. They're not magicians. Products take time to arrive when ordered. That's hardware 101.
Those of us...mature in nature and patient in spirit, understand that when you walk into any store... if it's crowded, you wait your turn. But born a native New Yorker, I know most New Yorkers have to acquire that level of patience. Its not a natural NY trait. So, I get it.
Visit Star Gate & Empire Locksmith. You'll love...
Read moreI wish I could give ZERO star because even one star is too much for them. If you live in the area or are in the area avoid this place. The workers sell you an item that costs nearly a $100 but does not specify the return policy, when you yourself inquire about it, they vaguely say "no refund, just exchange or store credit." But when you decide to go back an exchange the item, they say they don't sell used items therefore they cannot accept the item back .The owner suddenly comes up with many policies that were never mentioned at the time of purchase. He doesn't even listen to what the customer has to say, he cuts you off, shakes his head to get you upset. Once you raise your voice he says he tried helping you but that you're getting aggressive. It's clearly a tactic. It's honestly a shame. He then says you can make a complaint but when you try to take pictures of their written policy (which are just as vague), he tries wavering you by saying he has been inspected so many times before that he isn't scared. First of all, a complaint is not about scaring anyone, it's about getting an unbiased, neutral individual to assess the situation, and second, that last statement should also heed as a warning because clearly people have been complaining. Don't let people make a fool out of you with your own money, don't spend your money just to be disrespected, go elsewhere. There are few more options in this neighborhood. I sure wish I knew before. I will still make the complaint so that future customers do not have to fall for these cheap business scams. I honestly feel scammed. I truly do because at one point he said he will accept the item and exchange for another USED item....but in the beginning said they do not accept or sell used items. There are inconsistency in their words and...
Read moreSuper helpful! This family oriented neighborhood locksmith offers an array of services, not just making key copies!
Theyâll come to the property for reasonable rates and do an amazing quality job switching the locks. If the new locks donât fit the door frame perfectly, thatâs okay!
Theyâre handy too, and can custom tailor doorways if needed for proper and secure closure to be assured.
Plus, the shop itself has every kind of key! Ive gotten mailbox keys, complicated Medeco keys, to standard $1.25 keys all done there for the tenants of my small multi family.
Today, for example, I made 15 keys for all of my tenants (new doors with new locks), of which I made a copy of 2 keys mistakingly of the wrong Key.
The workerâs boss, a complete gentleman, was completely understanding about the easy key mixup amongst so many keys, and made the needed copies free of charge!
Amazing business ethics at this place, great prices, talented workers, super speedy service, great store inventory & location, welcoming service, & so much more! I can go on and on...
Exponentially...
