It was my first time going to the hair salon since the pandemic. I saw great reviews of this place so I wanted to try it out. The interior was clean and modern. However, I am so upset after my visit. Firstly, they didn't even wash my hair to start. I feel getting your hair washed before haircut is part of the hair salon service. Maybe she thought my hair was clean? I didn't question them at the time but still makes me wonder why because I saw other customer getting hair washed. I asked the hair dresser I wanted to keep my length but wanted to add some layers so it is not so heavy. She curled my hair after the cut so I didn't realize how bad she ruined my hair at the hair salon. The hair dresser cut my hair at all different uneven lengths and looks horrible when I leave it straight. The shortest chunks of hair is on the outer side. The next day, my husband told me my hair looks like a scarecrow. Seems like all the good reviews of this place comes from the younger hair stylist, mine was done by an older middle age hair stylist. I’ve always gone to my barber happily for years, but after this pandemic, I realized I needed to find a place that followed proper protocol to protect myself. My first day there, Ryu-mi cut my hair the way she thought I should and I love my new style now. There’s something very nice about having the same person cut and wash my hair instead of 2-4 people working on me (it’s clear to me who to tip). She washed PRIOR and AFTER my cut and styled my hair I don’t know why this isn’t mandatory in all places for sanitary reasons I’ve never waited and it’s always been a consistent 30 min session. Clean new place. I think they have a skin care section that I should check out but it’s not really my cup of tea. I do miss the sharp lines my barber used to give me w the razor, but I’m afraid they won’t cut my hair the way I have it now and it’s no way these barbershops are as clean as the salons where they prewash EVERYONES hair.
