I wouldn't even wanna give one star to the terrible service I got today. The store was not crowded in the afternoon, and one checkout was open. When I got there with some apples, the black lady cashier saw me and still walked away to do something else. I was patiently waiting for her to be back. However, when she came back, she pointed to some other people and told me they're ahead of me. I was the one being there first and those people were behind me for sure. She still served the other people first. When it was my turn, she was having a long face towards me and kept saying I was behind them. It's crazy. When I got the check out point, no one was there. The black lady cashier looked just discriminating me. I'm not sure if it's a hate incident, but it's definitely not a normal procedure to serve a customer living in this community and shopping there for ten years. Very disappointed today and I will let all my family know that. The behavior of the black lady cashier is not acceptable. I hope the owner and the manager may double check the CCTV record and do something to maintain their...
Read moreGristedes review The checkout line service has been consistently terrible and is getting worse since the pandemic. They expect you to pack your own bag and would give you impatient look if you are still packaging before the next customer (I am a fast packer too). They would just stood there and stared you without even helping you when you are buying alot of groceries. Further, if the payment screen did not pop up for the customer to enter their reward card because it takes a couple of seconds to pop up after they entered on their end, they would raise their voice and told you to just tap it like you are an idiot, and I just experienced it again on a beautiful Sunday like today at 10:30 am and they continued to reprimand me. Now, I do really like the food products, the deli counter service and their manager (when he is on-site) but I will shop at Dagostino or Traders Joe more in the future after today because I don’t want to be treated like they are doing me, the...
Read moreThis place kills me! The last couple of times I've walked in I have marched right back out empty handed as their pricing is so offensive. I dont care how desperate you are for a convenient gallon of milk or basics you would have to be a fool to pay 25-50% more then EVERY OTHER grocery store in the already inflated Midtown. It should be illegal to price gauge this much. I've never seen anything like it in the city. Truly offensive. No wonder they sell expired food as they cant move food off their shelves fast enough with this ridiculous pricing. If they priced in line with the Manhattan market they would actually be able to sell through everything to keep their food fresh on the shelves.
Better alternatives in the neighborhood: Amish Market, Fairway, Trader Joes, etc. Heck, Whole Foods is way cheaper and much...
