Best fade in Brooklyn! I've been getting my hair cut at JQ for coming on 6 years now. I've tried a bunch of other places, barbers and stylists all over BK and Manhattan, and at this point I can honestly say I'd never think of going anywhere else. Julio Quintero, the owner, is a sweet, funny, affable guy who really knows his craft, and he's never let me down. My hair cut is complicated (a hard caesar with low skin fade) and my skull is pretty uneven, so most other barbers can't get it right. Julio nails it -- EVERY TIME. Finishes his skin fades with a razor, totally legit!
For $20 I get the best haircut I can get in NYC, even compared to places where I've paid $40, $60... You name it. I also want to shout out Alex who does really good work, he's my go to if Julio's not around.
If you're looking for a barber, look no further. Go in, tell Julio what you want, he'll sort you out!
I posted the same review on yelp, because I *&^@ love these guys and they deserve some...
Read moreI had a four-year experience as a regular customer at this barbershop, always well served by Tarik, an exceptionally skilled and friendly barber. Today, unfortunately, my experience was entirely different. I was served by a newbie who was handling his tools while sipping a glass of Hennessy, a level of unprofessionalism I had never experienced before. To make matters worse, he didn't change the blade when shaving, hurried through the service, resulting in an uneven beard, seeming more concerned about serving the next customer than delivering quality service.
To top it off, at the end of the service, I was surprised to see that the price had risen from $40 to $62.5 without any explanation. After communicating the situation to the owner, I decided that I will no longer be a customer of the place. I miss Tarik and the quality of the service he provided. It's a real shame to see a once excellent service deteriorate...

The older gentleman with white hair and glasses told me no, you’d look better with a skin fade. I said no I’d like a taper please not short on the sides give me a 4 on the sides. He said no, you’d look better with a low skin fade with a 2.
We went back and forth for a minute and he said trust me I’ll make it look good. I said okay fine whatever you’re the barber but I really don’t like it short.
I asked him to layer and scissor the top only 1/4 inch cause I’m trying to grow it out.
He ends up cutting my sides so short and not even touching the top. I said you know what forget it; paid and left. Please avoid this man.
People should respect what the customer wants. I should’ve stood up for myself but it was a long day and I needed a cut.
Will not be returning. I look like a mushroom now long top short sides.
At least the fade...
