J.Crew — Local services in New York

I witnessed an instance of bullying in the store on Saturday 6/29 between employees and I was just turned off and will never shop there again. A light-skinned african-american (or hispanic, glasses, pinkish hair) employee just started berating the employee (white, glasses, wearing white summer dress). The white salesperson helping me made the most innocuous remark and the hispanic girl started on her: "When you got kids you do things this way; I got three kids; I know what im talking about; you don't got kids; the kids are important; they are future; make 'dem smile; ya know?) eye-roll). The white girl just stood there in front of me, embarrassed, and listened to this diatribe. All she was trying to do was help me find the red and white, two sided bathing suit, in size 2. I have shopped here a couple of times because I work in the area. I mostly shop on line. I never leave a review but felt like I needed to leave one because of my recent experience there. I, during the holidays, wanted to return a top that was gifted to me but misplaced the gift receipt. I was given an EXTREMELY hard time by a manager (later come to find out store director) by the name of Alyssa. I eventually was given a store credit for the current price. J.Crew makes ideal clothing. The styles are not too extreme and are thus accesible and easy to wear whenever (whether in a formal or casual setting). Moreover, the prices are very good. Though some items are a bit expensive, the quality of materials is fantastic so you usually get more than you pay for. Their recent line of Ludlow suiting is excellent — not too slim fit that you're uncomfortable while sitting at work all day, but slim enough to wear to a hip evening event.
