We were in NYC for our Wedding Anniversary and we went to the Rockefeller Center looking for a place to eat lunch. We passed by this place and decided to eat there. Sooooooo glad we freaking did!!! The selection of food they have is wonderful! Delicious and authentic!!!! I recommend the salmon and braised beef bowl, crispy fish, roast chicken. The Banana Dessert (Itbwas so good I forgot the actual name of the menu) but everything is delicious!!! Omg! And their delicious refreshing House drinks too, Passion Thyme Tea and Sorrel, strawberry Lemonade. The price is very very reasonable and affordable. In addition, The staff are accommodating, super duper extra nice, very warm and welcoming to customers!!! When we said it's our anniversary they let us try their Sweet Plantains (that was a bomb!), and their Yucca Chips. We came back before our trip is over to try different menus and ordered food take to the airport for us to eat at a later time before our flight. Overall an amazing experience! Wr wish they have a branch here in California, specifically in L.A :) I also heard alot of awesome and good stuff about the owner Chef JJ. I purchased his recipe book and they are so nice to have him sign it and will send it to me.🥰 I can't wait. I highly recommend this place! Inrarely post reviews, but this place deserves to be known by...
Read moreFood was just okay, many better options in the area (ie samesa or beatnik) Zero stars for service. I purchased 2 dishes for my daughter and myself. My twin boys went next door and bought fries. They came in to sit with us while we ate. They put their bag with food on the table to wait while we finished. One of my kids (as kids do) must have reached into the bag although he denies doing this. All of a sudden one of the workers came up to him (a child) and shouted “no outside food, get this off the table” and aggressively pushed the bag off the table into his lap. Instead of addressing his parent who was sitting right next to him and simply telling us no outside food was allowed and we had to leave, which we gladly would have. I asked her not to touch the food and she replied “I would never touch the food, I touched the bag”, she repeated this several times. The whole situation was so strange and we quickly left. Staff needs better training, don’t ever touch the belongings of customer. Kindergarten 101- Use your words. If there is a policy issue and please address the parents of minors instead of terrifying my child by pushing items into his lap. Will not be back, would not recommend. Go to beatnik or samesa. Better food and staff that is...
Read moreSo we place an order for $61 worth of food. It took almost 30 minutes for us to get our food and then all of the protein in the food was completely and utterly overcooked. The beef was overcooked. The salmon was overcooked. The chicken was overcooked. The greens were overcooked by rice was overcooked like I just I’m so confused how in the world This place keeps getting good reviews. To spend $60 on three bowls and the only thing that was really decent or the crab bites is really sad to say the least. I’m a firm believer that in this world there are too many food places opening up and this is one that doesn’t need to exist. This is just some wanna be. I have a name kind of chef who was like hey I’ll get some investors to back me and open up some fast casual bowl concept that at the end of the day after I get my money, I won’t give two craps about the quality so please do yourself a favor walk away from this place so we can close and then they can replace it with another place in Rockefeller Center like they do every other year. Oh also, it was not busy at all when we waited 30 minutes for three balls. It was dead. It was just like they couldn’t be bothered to actually make the food....
