On 3/24/24, my Bell's Palsy returned for the 2nd time in approximately 30 years. The first time, my PCP referred me to Physiotherapy and I received electrical nerve stimulation. As my facial muscles improved, I was given a paper showing me some facial exercises I should do at home. I recovered well and have no complaints.
At Jamaica Physical and Occupational Therapy, Dr. Butron did use electrical nerve stimulation on my face too. However, in this case, heat was also applied at the same time as the nerve stimulation. After that, he gave my face a thorough massage then SHOWED me in front of a mirror 12 different face and neck exercises to do. At EVERY visit, I received the nerve stimulation, heat and massage. I typed a chart for myself listing the exercises so by the 2nd or 3rd visit, I could do them on my own in front of a mirror at the clinic after he finished the massage. He was always nearby if I needed any assistance and he did check on me in between treating other patients.
I tried to see him 3 times per week but sometimes I couldn't and that was no fault of theirs. My first visit was on 3/30/24 and my last was on 5/8/24. My face has greatly improved. During this time, people who didn't see me when I could barely move anything on the right side of my face said they couldn't tell I was recovering from Bell's Palsy. Of course, I know the differences and my face may never be "perfect" but I sure am satisfied!
He instructed me to continue my facial exercises which I absolutely will do. I'm going to try not to get lazy about it because I've noticed more slight improvements since my last day there.
Mitch, Dee and the rest of the staff (I'm sorry I didn't get their names) are so pleasant, welcoming and helpful. The office is clean and accessible.
I know everyone's situations/results will be different but I highly recommend Rheden Butron, PT, DPT and Jamaica Physical and...
Read moreI have been visiting this clinic for the past few weeks, and it has been such an incredible experience. Dr. Red and his team are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. After a few weeks of a combination of heat, massage, shockwave, and exercises, the pain I’ve been experiencing in my hand has subsided, and it feels much better. They also work with patients to make sure they can attend their appointments by offering a flexible schedule. I would recommend this clinic to anyone in need of PT! Thank you,...
Read moreDr. Butron, also known as Rhed by his patients is a kind and knowledgeable PT. I recently became a patient here post-accident and have had a good experience during the sessions I’ve attended here. The facility is clean and the service is efficient. They incorporate various aspects of PT to work on improving mobility and gait. I do think there can be more assistants to facilitate the sessions better and make them time efficient for patients and the staff overall!
Thank you to Rhed...
