More than two decades of wait is finally over. Brand new tennis courts at John J Carty Park. I hope parks department will monitor these courts in summer time and don't let private coaches use these courts for making money without the permits. Noise from surrounding roads leading to Verrazano bridge is very loud while you play tennis. If you learn to ignore it then you can play for long hours. Some folks lacks common sense that these courts for public and not to occupy the court that is not used by them. People bring metal bucks as alternate to hopper and put their metal chairs right on the court damaging new courts. I wish park department monitor these courts after 5pm and stop people who are using courts as dog playground.

Update: If you are playing on last two courts close to Fort Hamilton Army terminal then watch out for debris falling from the bridge everytime noisy vehicle passes on the bridge. Debris is mixture of cement and concrete along with the glass. If small children are playing then ask them to wear hat and shades to protect their eyes from...

There were five sections available with 2 courts each, but within the last few months one of the courts is locked with chains and recently repainted to be used only for pickleball but honestly not sure who has the key to that court (club, city, senior center nearby)?

During the week, there's a lot of construction happening under the overpass or on the bridge, so it can get...

There's 6 tennis courts and a few Pickleball courts closer to the senior center. Wish there was a reliable bathroom too, but it's a pretty nice court, and me and my brother play there...
