Le Labo — Local services in New York

I had never heard of Le Labo but was browsing shops on Madison for a birthday gift for my best friend and I knew she loved perfume stores so I popped in to see what they had.

I was welcomed in by Jesus. I started looking around and smelling some of the fragrances and he let me know that he was there if I had any questions. Since I loved the interior design, I started there, asking about the choices they made with the distressed walls and old school tiles.

We then ventured into the origin story of the business. Jesus was so well informed about everything and it was a pleasure to get such a comprehensive picture of who Le Labo was.

When it came to picking something, I went with the sampler since fragrance is such an individual choice, I figured I'd give her a few selections and then buy her a bottle of whichever she preferred. Jesus customized the label for her box and it was the best customer service I've had in a long time.

I recently revisited this Le Labo, and it continues to impress me!! This Le Labo on the Upper East side isn’t just a store it’s an experience. The space is beyond beautiful, but it’s really the team that makes it stand out.

I’m met with the same warmth and attention that makes this place feel special. The team, both some familiar faces and new ones, goes beyond just helping; they genuinely care, taking the time to make each interaction personal and memorable. Each team member was not only knowledgeable but also remarkably kind and attentive, creating a warm environment.

Although I am a great fan of Le Labo, disappointed at the lack of care in customer service at this very site - label was incorrectly printed due to misspelling of my name / nickname, and the electronic receipt was not sent (again due to misspelling of the email address) until everything was brought up by the customer over the phone. I was asked to return to the site in-person to have everything reprinted and relabeled at the expense of my own time and traveling. Given that the merit of Le Labo involves the scent as well as the whole experience, it was quite disappointing. Hoping for a better...
