There was a bag sitting on the counter so I asked to see it. The cashier pointed to the back of the store and said someone claimed it and she hung it up behind the counter. There was another customer standing in front of the counter and she asked to see it. The cashier handed it to her even though when I asked to see it she told me no. The lady puts it in her cart and walks away. I asked the worker why she did that and she refused to look at me or answer my question. She lied to my face and gave it to one of her people. Is that what the workers are trained to do? Play favorites and alienate paying customers? Although i was able to find very nice items for a decent price; experiencing the staff treat a young black man so horribly soiled the experience. He was looking for a fitting room and when he was ignored he went to ask a worker by the door. They did not listen or acknowledge he was seeking help and begun to rip clothes out of his hands. He tried to explain and I even tried to translate since they staff primary speak Spanish. They ignored both of us and threatened to call police and shooed him away. Great selection of clothes and good prices. However, the dressing rooms were closed and there are no returns or exchanges. Also, I paid with card and I noticed that as the cashier scanned each item, each item rang up as slightly more than on the price tag. I asked and she said it was tax since I was paying with card. The problem is that tax is supposed to be calculated at the end, not added to the price of each individual item. The bigger problem is that these clothes should be exempt from clothing tax in NY state unless the total goes over $110. My $3 item automatically scanned in with a supposed amount added for tax.
