I called the salon to book an appointment and spoke with Lily herself. She told me I could come at 5:45PM and that she would be the one to cut my hair.

I arrived at the salon 10 minutes early and saw that she was still working on someone else’s hair. That was fine—I was willing to wait. But by 6:00PM, I was still waiting, and a blonde Eastern European woman approached me and said she would be cutting my hair. I was surprised, as Lily had specifically told me—twice over the phone—that she would be the one to do it.

Had she been upfront and said she wasn’t available, I wouldn’t have made the effort to go all the way to her salon. It was incredibly UNPROFESSIONAL.

This was my first time booking an appointment here, and I will definitely NOT be returning. If you’re reading this review, consider it a warning—make sure you’re not the next victim of double...

I’ve been going to Lily’s Salon for a few years since moving to the West Village. I have VERY THICK hair that I typically cut shoulder length with long layers, and Lily does an incredible job with the cut and blowout. She is able to take out some of the weight without compromising the shape or movement. I’ve also started sending my boyfriend to Lily (so she does a great job with men’s hair too!). For men it’s $55 for wash and cut, and she will do $20 trims between cuts if needed. Not only is Lily a talented stylist, she is responsive, professional and personable too. Lily is an amazing person!! She gave me a gorgeous blowout, i wish i had better pics from when it was fresh. She’s a total pro, and really knowledgeable about different hair types and scalp health - she understood my hair on an intuitive level that i’ve never experienced anywhere else. she’s also just an all round sweetheart and super interesting to talk to. will definitely come...
