I took my girlfriend here on a dinner date. The ambience was cute and romantic, and it had an air fitting for a proper date that wasn’t obnoxiously fancy. There isn’t too much space inside, and I felt a little squished as a 6’2 guy, but petite is in the name, so I can’t complain, and at no point did we feel like there wasn’t enough space for us to be comfortable. To begin, their bread tasted fresh, nice and fluffy inside with a crunchy crust, I believe they bake it themselves if I’m not mistaken. The French onion soup was great, as many other reviews suggest, and it was hefty on cheese, which we enjoyed. The escargot came in a pesto sauce and were prepared to a good texture- not too slimey and not too tough, good level of chew. The steak tartare was great with a good amount of salt and pepper but not overspiced so you can enjoy the meaty flavor with the quail egg served in the shell, allowing you to incorporate it as you wish. For the mains, we had the Boeuf Bourguignon and the Cuisse De Canard Confit. The beef was cooked to a great texture where it fell apart at the fork and didn’t require cutting with a knife, and the flavor was rich. The mashed potatoes were fluffy and light and paired well with the beef. My girlfriend enjoyed the duck and finished her plate. For drinks we ordered the phoenix and fraise cremeuse absinthe cocktails, which were strong and flavorful. I later ordered a dirty martini which they did not skimp on alcohol or olive juice, 10/10. For dessert we ordered the chocolate and caramel tart, which was unfortunately quite disappointing since they boast a dedicated dessert team on the menu itself - the dough felt sandy and wasn’t chewy or moist. The chocolate flavor was pretty bland, and although the menu did state it is milk chocolate, it just lacked richness, like it was made with Hershey’s or something. The caramel drizzle was just that, and overall it tasted and felt like something bought from a store and frozen till we ordered it. My girlfriend is a big sweet tooth, and even she didn’t care to finish it. Our bill came out to a little over $300, which we felt was a bit too expensive as this wasn’t actual fine dining and we didn’t order any particularly expensive foods, but the service was great and staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner date here and I’d recommend it for a romantic date, or just for...
Read moreWhere can I start? Well the first is if I could give them a half star 🌟, I would gladly do it! This restaurant was such a disappointment, we were looking forward to go and enjoy a delicious meal but we were surprised badly. Let’s start with the hostess, it seemed as if she hates her job and would rather be rude and nasty to costumers. She sat us and we had to wait more than 15 minutes until a server came to see if we wanted anything to drink - side note (have to say that the only decent thing about this restaurant was the server he really tried to accommodate us and make our visit a pleasant one), but to no avail. We placed our order, the Wine was exquisite. Then came the food orders: I ordered the Steak Aux Ouefs - I asked for Medium Rare, I got over done meat! Uneatable. I had to request for it to be changed! But before I managed to get it changed I had to wait for a few minutes for a stale knife (had to ask for it twice) - my friend ordered the Escargots de Bourgogne- she asked what sauces it could come with, they only offered one. Whatever that was it could not be called a sauce it was a watery yellow tasteless liquid. She asked for bread to try and eat this concoction, let’s just say the bread came minutes after she had given up on those “Escargots”. This definitely was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! We had to go and eat a nearby restaurant after we left. The kitchen staff that was in charge of producing this atrocious meal, need to re-examine what they doing, and they should remember that salt and seasoning are their friends not their enemy. Management should take a closer look at how their hostess is treating their customers, she needs training on customer service. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, I feel that through my money...
Read moreI must say that the experience was below expectations. The guy who served us and took our order was always very kind and attentive. Different from the girl who was on duty and at the bar.
We were welcomed with water on the table and a basket of bread and butter, honestly, this was the only tasty thing of all the food. We ordered onion soup, I was hoping to try it for the first time in a restaurant, it was very disappointing, lack of flavor, even the cheese didn't taste good in that combination. When the girl came up to ask us how the soup was and knew we weren't very happy about it, she gave us a very noticeable look of annoyance and from then on she always had that attitude.
When the second course arrived, we thought it might be different, but we found a "salad" which was actually just lettuce leaves with a hint of oil, with no flavor whatsoever. The sandwich was a definite no for us, we have been able to have a much better and cheaper simple ham and cheese sandwich in any coffee shop. It just looked fancy because of the presentation with the cheese on top of the bread, but the bread was a bit hard and the amount of ham was poor.
The price definitely doesn't justify the quality of the food at all. It's too expensive for something so simple, tasteless and poor. My partner had already gone with friends before and they tried other types of food such as meat, It had also been a bad experience in terms of food, taste and texture. So this is something constant.
It's sad because the place is very nice and in a good location.
Honestly, it puts you off trying other locations and finding out if the food is only bad here. But we're not going to spend any more money on this place.
DO NOT...
