Chelsea Art Suites — Hotel in New York

This hotel needs to post on their site that they do not have an elevator. After booking and seeing this information from a post on another website we called and asked if there is assistance to get to the upper levels (where our rooms were) and were told an employee is "sometimes" there to help us getting up the stairs... Once we realized this we attempted to cancel our reservation weeks out from the booked dates and they refused to refund us 100% even though we do not have a choice but to change where we stay. Incredibly poor customer assistance overall through this process. Now we've lost money and are scrambling last minute to find another hotel within an even smaller budget. I will actively be turning away my friends, family, and company away from this establishment for the lack of warning of no elevator as well as not making an any refund exception for our...

We stayed at the Chelsea Art Suites for a weekend. The room was OK, but when we arrived the refrigerator in the room was broken. Also, the reason we booked in the first place was to have three beds. During our first night in NYC, the Art Suites crew had switched out the third bed for a new bed, but the assembly men never showed up to assemble the new bed! When we got back to our room at night we had unassembled pieces of the bed and a mattress just leaned up on the hallway wall. The Art Suites staff placed the blame on other parties for the inconveniences and did not offer any type of refund or other accommodations.

For the price the Art Suites charge per night, I would just stick with hotels in the area or book a different place...

The place was not as advertised, building was very old and unsafe! it was terrible, the room was crooked it was leaking, we try to call people many many times and nothing! Beds so uncomfortable, bathroom was disgusting, after we left we all had lice!!!! (Can you believe that????) a group of 7 people on our first time in NYC!!!!!!!
