Long Island Railroad Jamaica — Local services in New York

I use the LIRR every week on average to just enjoy being around trains (cause I like them) and it’s so much fun! First off I must note that I live on LI so this is what I take I don’t take the subway but I will say that the LIRR is wayyy more cleaner and smoother than the subways. It is a very friendly environment as well, all the ppl r so nice especially employees, I also love just sitting back and relaxing because it’s so smooth and just so much fun. I sometimes wish that the LIRR can have this train that is nonstop so I can just enjoy the scenery and the smoother ride that’s way more...

Worst service ever, my train had never arrived in the station although it was scheduled to come and stop there, but it says on the app that the train had blew past the station without stopping. Got to the station very early on so I definitely did not miss it. And now MTA says I can’t refund the ticket since their policy apparently is $10 processing fee even for canceled trains. I am going to avoid the MTA from now on I’ve had way too many miserable experiences with them and wasted too much...

Lirr train is very good. As schedules are on time,safe,clean plus you download mta app you can check real time train schedules and even advance.

You can purchase ticket in advance and activate before boarding. You can even purchase ticket few minutes before boarding too
