I got married august 25th 2012 but started looking for dresses 2010 into 2011. I very HIGHLY recommend Lotus for the reasons below. I looked and low. I have always been crazy about fashion and studied at Parsons and am in the design world so the dress was important. I looked at dresses that were as high as 10 grand in stores like sax fifth ave (The only dress that was almost worth this much was an Oscar De La Renta wedding dress from spring 2012 in light pint horse hair...I had the pleasure of trying it on at Saxs. It was highly sculptural and like nothing I have ever seen before. Sax was okay because they let me try it on with out an appointment during a photoshoot for a bridal mag (knowing I probably won't be getting it).Besides from Sax Fifth I felt all the big dogs in manhattan were all fluff. Bergdorf goodman, and kliensfeld, ect... I knew if a dress was worth it as far as design and materials/productions go. Kliensfeld is a wedding factory. They give you 45 min and your out of there. I feel bad for people that fly in. They don't even have all the best designers you would think they would have. Most see Vera Wang and think they are the best place. I started looking into atelier aimee (impossible to get in touch with..., Rosa Clara (the dress i wanted was an editorial from spain and would have to have a seamstress copy it), Jenny packham-little cool things (sold at gabriella's but they were snotty and hard to make an appointment), and Pronovias (They had one dress I liked..made appointment to try it on ..and they sold sample right before we got there. Bridesmaid took off too. The funny part was the lady that told us they just sold it was the lady from Say yes to the dress at Kliensfelds haha. No wonder both have an "oh Well attitude". Pronvias, design or materials does not warrant the price. I noticed Pronovias dresses look like san patrick and sure enough they are connected .. just one is triple the price for the same thing. I came across Lotus because I saw they carried San Patricks which is basically the same thing as pronvias so I came to visit. They also had good ratings on the well magazine. The dress I purchased was actually Enzoani (never even heard of this designer before I saw the dress). I didn't expect to purchase dress type or designer but I could not have made a better choice for my curvy body type. We just got pictures back and am happy with results! Right after I purchased the dress.. I went home and started researching pictures of the "Gretchen" on blogs and saw it didn't look like the prototype sample I saw at Lotus. I called lotus in tears explaining what I saw and that I didn't want to wait 6 months and find out it's made with cheaper beads or material then store sample. I have heard of this happening so I knew to look out for it. The dress I saw in the store had pure white beading and the one in the blog looked like it had a rainbow or pink hue making it look cheap. Katie and Wendy let me buy the sample (It was new and fit like a gloove). This was very nice because it was a new sample and they couldnt sell the dress without it. Also, they promised me they would order extra yardage of material from the factory to fix a snag and followed up! Lotus covered like $300.00 of yardage for me. I was very scared about the seamstress part being that it took so long to find the dress and if it came out wrong I would ave no time to order a new one... Anna did an AMAZING job! She fitted and steamed everything perfectly! She also used to work at kliensfeld as seamstress. Your are in good hands. I was the biggest pain but thanks to Lotus we got...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn January 2017 I ordered my wedding dress & bridesmaids dresses in April. My wedding isn't until July 2018 but I am a full time student & I also work full time, so I wanted to get as much done during my winter & summer breaks. When I ordered the dresses, I specified I wanted to receive them in the summer. Lotus told me it would arrive in mid July, perfect for my school schedule. August came and I had not heard from Lotus (Strike 1), I reached out to them. Lotus said that there was a problem with the manufacturer & that all the dresses should be coming in mid October. I couldn't understand if I ordered the dresses at different times & from different manufacturers how are they all due for the same time? My guess is that they didn't order the dresses at the time the deposit was given to them (Strike 2). I received the bridesmaids dresses earlier than expected & they look perfect. One dress was tiny bit off in color but the difference is so small that you can't really tell unless I tell you. I didn't tell Lotus because it doesn't bother me enough to make a thing out of it. Come November, still no word on my wedding dress (Strike 3). Again I reached out to them on November 11. I spoke to Katie several times & had the most unpleasant conversations. As I guessed my order was not put in until May. If I gave you a deposit in January, why are you holding my deposit for about 5 months before placing my order? Katie kept saying that they order the dresses and that the manufacturer ship the dresses both for an ETA of 3 months prior to the wedding. However when I ordered my dress in January I specified I needed it for the summer so that it doesn't interfere with school. I work 40 hrs a wk, 5 days a wk. On my 2 days off I'm in school from 12:15pm to 8:35pm & I also have an evening class after work. So when I told them I won't have days off I meant it. So now I find myself having conversations with Lotus in the middle of my work day & having to step out of class to talk to them. Mind you the end of the semester is approaching so I have deadlines & finals coming at me pretty fast. I tried to get my deposit back but Katie said that it is impossible. Idk how when it's been 10 months & I still didn't have anything to show for it at the time of that conversation. Lotus kept insisting that my dress would here on time for the wedding which I never doubted but I'm planning my wedding based on my own timeline so if I order my dress a year & half before the wedding it is for very specific reason or else I would have never started dress shopping so early. Only, after making a big fuss, another manager Wendy had it overnighted & my sister picked up the dress on November 13. It's been a few days & I haven't even seen the dress because I don't have days off until winter break. The saddest thing is that I hate my dress because my experience was so tainted by Lotus and their incompetence. Now I'm stuck with a dress that I can't look at, I'm going to have to take a loss when I sell it and will have to look for a new...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI purchased my wedding dress from Lotus Bridal. I wanted a good quality dress that was unique, and really fit my personality. I found the perfect one and fell in LOVE! I was instructed to purchase my dress in a very large size, as I was told that the dress ācup sizeā would not be adequate for me. I am a size 4 and was told to order a size 10! Although this seemed crazy I was told that āa seam is a seam, and itās much easier to just take it inā. They advised me that a 10 would be the only size that would fit my chest. Them being the experts... I trusted them... I was told it would have to be made and was coming from Europe. 9 months later my dress is in... and it is ENORMOUS!!!! Not ONE part of the dress fits me, itās falling off my body. One girl asks me ādid u lose weight?!ā Do you really think that I lost THAT much weight?!!!!! Is that even realistic?! She then tells me itās no issue and a tailor will be able to take in the dress no problem. The first 2 tailors I take the dress to, tell me I will lose all the detailing in the back of my dress. (This is the reason I bought the dress... for the back!!!). They tell me that each individual crystal will have to be hand stitched back on to the dress... and basically thatās my only option! So practically in tears, I take my dress back to Lotus Bridal and explain to them what I was told. They then explain to me why they had me purchase the size, and that they could have it taken in and altered for $600 š³! Now after spending $2200 dollars and almost $400 on beaded straps... $600 makes me feel a little sick!!!!!! Iām instructed by a sales person to try another tailor who had previously worked for them. āShe can fix itā she says. This brings me to today. As I go into the tailor for her to take a look at my dress, the first thing out of her mouth is, āthis dress is a big problem.ā Immediately my heart drops into my butt and I feel like Iām going to puke. She says āwho told you to order this dress? Itās at LEAST 3 sizes to big!ā After I explained what I was told... she shakes her head. The beadwork alone is a HUUUUGE JOB!ā She said she can fix it, but it isnāt easy. It can only be done once and has to be perfect, not once change can be made or the dress will have to be completely re-beaded all over again! Had the dress been my actual size... I wouldnāt have needed to spend another $500!!!!!!!!!!! Being a bride is supposed to be one of the most exciting times of my life... and NOW!!! Having to pay for a wedding, $2600 in total for a dress and now another $500 for alterations, which could have been avoided! Letās just say āIām pissed!!!!ā, would be an...
