Lulu's Perfect Nails — Local services in New York

I really love this nail salon and I’ve been getting pedicures here for a very long time. They always do an amazing and detailed job. I decided to get a manicure yesterday and the technician recommended the apres gel extensions. Unfortunately the extensions were not glued properly to my nails, crooked, and at a very bad angle. I didn’t notice this until after it was finished. I’m honestly shocked that she thought it was an acceptable job and was going to send me on my way. They definitely need to check under the nail when they are doing these types of manicures. They were very accommodating and understanding when i mentioned the issue. A new nail tech (named Alex I think) removed the apres gel and re-did an acrylic set for me with no issues. She did a phenomenal job and I am very happy with them. I’ve been to a couple nail salons in Astoria and I definitely prefer this location. The service was very meticulous with cuticles and shaping nails (took total of 40 mins for manicure), which is so important for me as I like short but oval nails. They were very polite and promptly accommodated a last minute appointment. I did a regular manicure and no complaints on my end. Love my nails, highly recommend!

Edit: Newer hires aren’t as good. One of them badly hurt my pinky nail while doing cuticles and it was bleeding a lot, I had to put on a bandaid after getting my nails done (defeated the purpose of getting nails done). I’ve never had a cuticle injury this painful, I broke down in tears after I got home. The nail person didn’t even apologize or acknowledge it.
