Moishy and MDC Diamonds literally saved my engagement and made my, and my now Fiancee's, dream come true. I had been searching for a jeweler for a few months and contacted over a dozen places from different states and in the UK as I was traveling. Funny enough one of the local jewelers I was getting quotes from let it slip that they'll source the diamonds from a company called MDC, so I decided to look them up them and saw they offer custom jewellery so I reached out and I'm really glad I did!

Moishy sent me an email and we scheduled a phone call. When he asked me about the budget I was naturally apprehensive because literally every other jeweler I talked to would ignore my budget and insist on quoting me more - which was very frustrating. To my surprise Moishy laughed at my budget and said there's no way it would be that much, probably half of that. It was refreshing and the first hint of honesty I got dealing with Jewelers during this whole ordeal. He was very helpful and patient with all my questions, back and forth on the design, diamond and metal options, and timing constraints. Luckily, since they do everything in-house, they were able to turnaround a custom engagement ring with 2 wedding bands, in at least a third of the time other jewelers.

My now Fiancee wanted a very specific design, very symmetrical and with a niche center stone, and they were so patient and helpful with creating a design mock-up based around the example design and the stone we sent to them, and making endless trivial tweaks. In addition, my fiancee's sister had surprised us with her late grandmother's wedding band to use diamonds from, which my fiancee had no idea about, and they were willing to help pull the diamonds from that band and incorporate it into the design and size everything just right around it. Moishy was upfront in warning me that there is always a risk with heirlooms and that they can easily crack, but luckily they handled them with care and were able to extract them all and save the band with no problems! Even though we were on a time constraint as I already had a trip booked to Norway to propose and was stressed about it being done on time, the MDC team were able to come through and make it all work out perfectly! It managed to get delivered just the day before we left for the trip!

The whole process was very casual, I was surprised there was basically no paperwork or contracts or anything, and I got nervous towards the end as it was hard to get a guaranteed timeline or specific statuses, but Moishy was a man of his word and everything we agreed to happened, with no surprises, and no hidden costs of any kind. I know I got a steal for 3 platinum rings with natural diamonds, and I appreciate that they stuck to the generous quote they provided in the beginning and didn't try to sneak in any charges knowing my budget was more, and because I was a handful to work with. They also included an appraisal which was very convenient for insurance.

I ended up proposing in Norway and my fiancee was so surprised as she didn't think I was close to having a ring yet, since she knew I was going back and forth with other jewelers and having a hard time with them ignoring budgets. She was ecstatic to see her dream ring design come to life and see the real sense of craftsmanship and quality in the set, and especially that her grandmothers diamonds are in there, and know that I had smooth experience getting it made, and for a great price. We are so over the moon about the ring and the process and are excited to recommend MDC to others. Thank you Moishy and MDC for making our dream ring and proposal...

UPDATED 4/24/2015:

This is the second time I have purchased from MDC - the first was my fiance's engagement ring, and we loved it so much we decided to get our wedding bands from there, too. Moishy and the team custom made both bands - matching the width of my fiance's engagement ring for hers; and I wanted a particular style but a bit wider than was on the site. No problem!

We received the rings, and they are GORGEOUS...couldn't be happier (not that I'm surprised!). MDC is unparalleled in quality, experience (both theirs as well as what they provide the customer), customer service...everything.

This just reaffirms why I decided to go back to MDC after my first experience...and I will continue to. I can't speak highly enough of them!

My purchase was a diamond engagement ring - and from start to finish, I can't speak highly enough about my experience with MDC. Their website drew me in initially (very well laid out, great pictures, a great resource). Eventually, after a lot of research, I decided that I wanted to actually see the diamonds before purchasing. I spoke on the phone with Rosa, who was very helpful with setting up an appointment at their office and taking the parameters for the types of diamonds that I was interested in.

When I arrived, I sat with Moishy and went over EVERYTHING. He had three different diamonds based on what I had asked for, and was extremely patient as I reviewed each of them a few times. His knowledge and expertise definitely helped put me at ease with what was going to be a very large, personal, and sentimental purchase.

I chose a diamond and a setting - which, I didn't realize, would be custom made to my specifications. Granted, this takes a few extra weeks, but I feel is entirely worth it. Moishy was in contact the entire time, including sending me a CAD version of my ring to review prior to actually making it.

Once the ring was ready, it was shipped overnight, and is beautiful. It was very important to me that I get a reputable diamond, and the one that I bought came with the original GIA report (and is laser-inscribed for validation).

I'm not from New York, and honestly wanted to buy locally in Pittsburgh. The bottom line is that nowhere that I looked (mall stores, "mom and pop" stores, and high-end jewelers) could compare with MDC. Either they didn't have the quality of stones / weren't graded by GIA, or couldn't come close to MDC's prices, or (most importantly) didn't give me a good feeling with the process. I thought that I wanted to buy locally to be "comfortable" with the purchase, but it turns out that I couldn't have been more comfortable working with Moishy.

It is without hesitation that I recommend MDC, and will personally do so to family and friends when they are in the market for...

Purchasing an engagement ring is an intimidating experience. I expected an upsell, being drowned in options, and negotiation. I was wrong about it. David and Rosa helped my fiance and I settle on exactly what she wanted. They stayed within our budget and even helped us improve it: The diamond they helped us find wasn't the largest we could afford, but it was by far the best quality of those we saw. The difference is noticeable in any light and their help meant we could spend more on the rest of the setting. Rosa included us in the design process, helped us decide every detail of the ring, and had it manufactured and delivered quickly.

The experience was so pleasant we got our wedding bands from MDC as well. Again Rosa and David helped us winnow the many options into exactly what we wanted, staying within our budget the whole time. The result is three fully customized, beautiful rings. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Edit, 10 years later: I went back to MDC for a 10-year anniversary band. Again, the experience was excellent. MDC helped me design a beautiful ring at a great price and my spouse loved it. I cannot recommend them more. The whole purchasing experience at MDC is so far above my expectations for this kind of thing. Their jewelry is beautiful. They are thoughtful and helpful. I cannot recommend...
