Mid-Bronx Senior Citizens Council Inc. — Local services in New York

This is the management company for my building. They do nothing to improve the building and constantly turn off the water with ni warning. The so called Executive Director, Walter, does nothing but hype up his position, constantly reminding you that his the boss. He is very rude and disrespectful when you call about building maintenance. They disrespect the residence and raise the rent with no warning. They put charges on the rent bill and if you dont notice, you just go on paying it. As a black man you would think walter would at least be respectful to a building that is almost entirely black and Hispanic, but he and the management company treat us like trash. He has let his position lead him to believe that he should not listen to or respect the tenants. We pay our rent in full and on time every month. I am extremely grateful that this place is available for the seniors in this area who choose to try and live an independent lifestyle. However, it certainly could be better maintained. The carpet is absolutely filthy, the laundry room needs to be completely overhauled, the elevators need to be cleaned and better maintained. The seniors need a reliable handy man who can help them with things around the house. The heat in winter is not always that great. I'm sure there are enough funds pouring into this place. There are no known security concerns which is a huge plus. It would be nice if a few activities resumed for the seniors.
