I would stay far away from this salon. I went here about 4 times and almost each and every time had some sort of issue either with my appointment getting moved or issues with pricing while I was there. The nails always came out great but the attitude of the staff is abhorrent. My final straw was this week. I booked an appointment for my best friend and I and asked in advance for us to be seated next to each other since there was a language barrier between my friend and the nail tech. A week before the appointment I received a text saying we were all set to have our nails done in a private room. When it came time to do our nails the nail tech assigned to me refused to do my nails because she did not want to do nails at any other station. I was polite and explained the situation and she stormed away from me saying she will not do my nails. The shift manager of the day did not do anything to fix it and did not offer me another tech. She didn’t even reschedule my appointment. Russian manicures, especially gel extension appointments, are not easy to come by and I often book weeks in advance. So you could imagine my shock. In fact, the manager was essentially laughing at the whole ordeal. Although their work may be good the customer service is atrocious especially for the price of...
Read morePros: My nails look nice [for now].
Cons: The artist looked like she wanted to be anywhere but there, kept staring at the front desk lady, the other women in the salon and texting on her phone.
Artist seemed clueless and disorganized, on one hand all nails were done at the same time (which you're not supposed to do for gel), on the other hand she remembered and did one nail at a time in the most random order.
The nails were filed after curing with top-coat. This breaks the seal and I won't be surprised if they start to peel within a week.
Very rough, not gentle at all. The drilling was painful and she pulled on my hands every time they needed to be switched.
When I got home I had to pick cured gel from underneath my nails.
Rushed work, she had to file down/fix certain nails multiple times.
Front desk gave me a full $20 as change so I'd have no choice but to tip that amount - Do I want to give 25% tip for half effort? No.
$80 for the bare minimum. Other salons give you cuticle oil, or at least some lotion. Here? Nothing. You get the feeling they want the money and have you gone ASAP.
Overall very rushed work that's lacking in effort and poor customer service. Apprentice quality work at...
Read moreI tried out nail squad after a recommendation from a friend, and I’m honestly so happy I did.
I never thought my nails could look so beautiful. I have tried just about everything, gel, sns, acrylic, apres gel x, silk nail wraps, etc and nothing never seemed to look aesthetically pleasing and satisfying. I have very irregular and wide shaped nail beds which makes it very difficult to work with. It got to the point that had I stopped doing my nails.
After my visit at nail squad, all I can say is I’m sold and I never looking back. I had Tatia and she was fantastic, she took her time, she made sure that I was satisfied throughout the whole process, she was honest with my expectations and what she would be able to deliver confidently.
Overall it was a great experience, it’s a bit pricey but it’s definitely worth the investment. Plan to be there for a while. Come with cash because if you decide to pay with your card they charge you tax which I didn’t know.
On Fridays they have happy hour so they were going around passing champagne which I thought was very fitting after...
