I am utterly disgusted and appalled by the behavior of two employees at this location. On 11/21/2023 at approx. 9 pm, I was accused of stealing a can of soup by an employee after I had left the store. The employee stopped me as I walked out of the store, demanding to see my receipt and search my shopping bag. I asked the employee if he saw me steal anything in person or on the store cameras, and he responded that he did not. I provided my receipt to the employee but refused to allow him to search through my shopping bag. The employee, Mohamed, then proceeded to threaten to call the police on me, which I encouraged him to do as he was falsely accusing me of theft. After that, the employee went to get the manager, who stated that the employee told him that he had seen me put a can of soup into my shopping bag without paying for it. I asked the manager if there was proof of me stealing anything. The manager stated he could look through the store cameras, which I encouraged him to do as I had not stolen anything. The manager refused to look at the cameras and proceeded to falsely accuse me of stealing. I asked the manager for his supervisor's professional contact information, which he refused to provide. I was treated like a criminal without any proof by either of the employees, threatened to have the police called on me for no reason, and physically intimidated from leaving the premises. I am embarrassed and humiliated that I had to experience this form of racial and gender discrimination at a supermarket, to assume I am a thief and can’t afford to pay for my own groceries because I am a black woman. The employees' behavior was unprofessional and appalling, and I am demanding to be contacted by the District Manager of this store...
Read moreThis Trade Fair is a must-visit, for it offers a sublime encounter with the Truly Real. Many urban grocery stores encode in their architectural footprints the story of their expansion over many decades, with their trap doors and secret lentil alcoves, their curt aisles offset from one another at strange angles, their produce sections pinched off on their own by evidently load-bearing walls.
Nah, but this one is on the next level. I walked along a dairy case for four days, and at the end I met myself about to set out on the journey (as well as the chocolate pudding I had been seeking). I think it's laid out according to John Dee's schematic of the Garden of Eden or something, but whatever they did the twists and turns and range of available commodities reproduce the entire universe in microcosm. I am a better man, wiser, living a fuller life after my encounter with this Trade Fair.
Special thanks to the night shift crew, whose courtesy and diligence saved me from forgetting, like, half a whole...
Read moreI experienced the same pricing mismatch problem that a prior commenter mentioned. The price indicated for the product was 30% lower than what showed up on the register when I was checking out. They refuse to honor the price that they had on the label saying that the micro-printed size of the product on the label did not match the product that they put the label on. There was no other product size matching that label, so I can only conclude that they knew what they were doing and used that fine print sizing as an excuse when called out on it. Watch your receipts very closely these guys do questionable business practices and refuse to honor and make good on pricing that they label. Any other store wanting good reputation and integrity always honors the price that they put on a product, except...
