Has some of the nastiest people working there especially the lady that works at the front desk at night time. She stops me as I am coming in as usual to tell me with a straight face that I owe them two months of membership fees and if if I do not pay they will terminate my membership in few days. This came to me as news as I am coming in regularly and scanning my ID and nobody said anything about the payment not received before today. They have my credit card information on file and charge my card regularly in the beginning of each month. She did not provide any good answer as for why they did not collect the fee as my credit is valid with plenty of funds and is being used by me on daily bases every where. She also said falsely that they called me. And, I absolutely have no records of that. Again and again kept telling me to pay or lose my membership. This is the way they are treating a member of the organization for more than 20 years who is in good standing and used to bring my entire family there. It is disgusting to say the least.

This place is a membersip-based Y. Everything cost, except for the free stuff, like when The Public Mobile Unit performs theater productions of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM by William Shakespear, directed by Jenny Koons. The Y has a (working) swimming pool, an older style gym with two basketball hoops that make up one basketball court. There may be some temperature-control issues (at least in the gym area). Get as much information ahead of time... no one really answers the phones, which may be problematic during times when the venue hosts special events. The Y is well funded and continues to offer more programs for the East New York community.

Seems like a smaller Y compared to the one on cross Island.

Good afternoon, Recently I’ve become a new member of the North Brooklyn YMCA So far my experience has been a great one. However, I’m having a trouble finding an empty or unoccupied locker in the men’s locker room. 99% have locks on them already with members just leaving them. I come in at 7am and have to use a tiny locker for all my gym clothes, my jacket and my towel. There are barely any people in the gym but all the lockers are locked. Is there a way to notify the members not to leave the locks and be cordial and considerate to other members? We are all paying the same membership and I don’t understand why I can’t use the locker

Thank you very much. Hopefully there will be at least a notification in the men’s locker room for the members not to leave their clothes not only overnight but just like forever. It’s really...

I try to go as often as possible. The renovation was definitely a good thing.. My complaints are the locker rooms benches are uncomfortable. Dirt & mold on the ceiling vents. Showers could use alot of CLOROX to kill any fungus growing. Cleaner spends more time on the phone, then anything else. Sure would be good if the Administrator got up from the desk & walked around. Oh yeah...What Einstein thought toilets in an open locker room was a good idea?? Who the hell ok that. Complaints? .not to the front desk..they are clueless. Dont get me wrong it's not a bad place. Some employees are nice, Unfortunately I don't know there names. Members are nice & respectful. So, Dont hold your breath if your looking for resolutions to your complaints. Unless of course your in the locker room then you may need to hold...
