Nuts Factory — Local services in New York

This Broadway location is Nut Factory’s shining star. It’s got the same great nuts, teas, candies etc as the other locations but it is the staff who make it uniquely pleasant. “Leo” is an impeccable ambassador for the franchise. His “can-do” professionalism is contagious. Leo is unfailingly buzzing around the store - roasting nuts, checking stock, cleaning the premises, or handling the register. He not only attends to but actually anticipates customers’ needs and desires. It’s clear that he takes pride in his work and gets excited about new items and flavors. For regular customers like myself, he knows my favorites but also entices me to try new items - which leads me to buy them and branch out! I’ve watched him guide and encourage the entire team so they work like clockwork together keeping the store in pristine and tip-top shape. Leo and coworkers like supriya and vania exude a genuinely happy, supremely professional attitude that lights up the store and is so welcoming that I stop by literally daily to buy treats and lift my spirits. I’ve been to other locations of Nut Factory including Columbus Avenue which is actually closer to my home. But I go out of my way to go to Broadway. It’s not just the nuts I’m nuts about! I am one who usually loves the nut factory and it’s staff but after this no. Today I went in there with two of my other friends with great intentions and left feeling embarrassed and down. When we were at checkout the two workers (middle eastern) looked at me with sass and the women told the man “charge her the most expensive nuts” I didn’t think I ordered the ‘most expensive nuts’ but ok. Even with her purple eyeshadow the evil in her eyes still popped. If I could give zero stars, I would. They were straight up despicable. Then when it came time to pay I wiped out my wallet she looked at it as if it was empty and said, ‘No credit or apple pay’ I saw a person before me pay with cash. Today was also one of my friends first time in the nut factory. She filled a bag around 1/4 of the way up and was charged 30$ for a bag. She left the store feeling so upset that she wasted her money on terrible experience. This was an excruciating experience for the 3 of us. I hope to move on from this experience. In summary of the nut staff I simply felt a mean stare however I will be taking this experience and reminding myself that for someone to be that dark they don’t have a problem with me...

Scam Pricing and Rude Staff – Stay Away

I had a terrible experience here and want to warn others. The wall clearly listed the Dubai chocolate bar at $18.99, so we decided to buy it. At checkout, they asked if we wanted to sign up for a membership to get a 20% discount. We agreed, thinking it would be 20% off the $18.99 price.

But when I looked at the register, the price showed $24.69, not $18.99. When I questioned the price discrepancy, the staff became defensive and rude, offering no real explanation. After I had already given them all my personal information to sign up, they threatened to not give me the discount at all and insisted on charging the full $24.69.

Then they claimed the Dubai chocolate bar was exempt from the discount, even though they offered us the discount specifically for that item. None of it made sense. It felt incredibly shady and manipulative—like a bait-and-switch scheme.

Bottom line: false advertising, rude customer service, and a complete lack of integrity. Don’t waste your time...
