Iâve gave to this place way too many second chances. And partly because it is basically the only drop-in music and art classes in area without committing to the whole semester. First, if you claim to open place for kids you need to be knowledgeable in how to deal with them. If you make classes for 2-3 yo kids, all stuff needs to be trained in handling the right way tantrums that are very common for these age group. Otherwise JUST DONT MAKE CLASSES FOR THIS AGE GROUP. My daughter is strong willed and grew up with Montessori approach. Screaming at kiddo âNoo!â for her touching something that is prohibited in their own minds is out of any approach. And if you dont want kids to touch something SO HIDE IT. Donât display it in Montessori style. It is counterintuitive!!!! Or again donât make classes for kids who still cannot comprehend what No means. My daughter had at least 2 huge meltdowns that lasted for her till the rest of the day. Besides the time she went there with nanny and I donât know of. I will not be coming back. Today was last drop. I will NOT recommend this place. And i will share my experience with as many parents as possible. Music teacher Julia is the most adequate person there! The rest should not work with kids whatsoever. It is shame because the location and...
Read morePLAYDAY is the best place to have children really explore different art mediums and keep your own house clean (ha!). My son does the afterschool pick up from the local school PS 384. I have always appreciated the communication and support I get from the teachers and staff of PLAYDAY in what my child is learning and how he is participating.
He started was first turning 5 (with the afterschool pick up and yearly membership). Staff were very good about letting him ease into the classes, getting to know the teachers and exploring at his own pace. He is neurodiverse and doesnt always know how to express himself and can be very shy. In the almost 3 years of being at PLAYDAY he's really blossomed. He loves the classes, the teachers and is super social and comfortable at PLAYDAY - it has become his home...
Read moreBoth of my children, 7 and 5 have attended PLAYDAY for after school care and full day care on occasion for about 2 years now. They LOVE their experiences every time. Their art projects are insightful, interesting and enjoyable. My children have never done the same project twice... I donât know how, but they manage to intrigue them with new ideas in every class. The teachers are kind, fun, and so creative. They are enthusiastic about their lessons and have great classroom management. It is quite often that my children refuse to leave when I go to pick them up. I am so happy that we found PLAYDAY. It has truly become part...
