Where do I begin. My experience with Lisa at R&R Jewelers was absolutely phenomenal! Being the type of person that does my due diligence and researches extensively prior to making a big purchase, I wish I hadn't and gone straight to Lisa! I live in upstate NY and my now fiancee lives in NYC. I knew I wanted to buy a ring in NYC after hearing a lot about the diamond district. To my disappointment, many of the individuals on the diamond district are just sales people and often over-promise. I had a bad experience by one vendor who told me to buy the diamond because it was a good deal and not worry about it because my partner would never know the difference between that stone and a better one. That day I was extremely disheartened with the diamond buying experience in the diamond district since I was leaving back upstate in a few hours.

I had read about R&R Jewelers very briefly before and decided to stop in for a quick bit to see what was offered. The moment I walked in, Lisa greeted me very warmly and made me feel comfortable. She reassured me that being nervous about this process was completely normal since it is such a large purchase. She showed me a few stones with specifications close to what I was looking for. At that time, the stones in her inventory did not match up with exactly what I wanted. She told me to let her know when I was going to be in the city next and she would have a wide array of stones for me to choose from. During this meet Lisa wrote down the exact specifications I was looking for in a stone.

At our next meeting, Lisa had picked out some very amazing stones with the specifications and budget I had in mind. She was very well prepared and had assured me that I should not worry and that she would find me the right stone. That day we sat together for close to 3-4 hours looking at the stones in detail. Lisa by far had the greatest number of stones for showcase compared to any other individual who had prepared for a meeting with me. She had 7-8 stones for me to view!! Lisa made sure I could see any inclusions present under a loupe. When I could not see them, she would point them out so that I was well informed. She allowed me to take the diamonds in different light settings, which included taking the diamonds outside in natural lighting. This was very reassuring when it came to the buying process. After I had narrowed the selection down to 4 stones, she took the opportunity to shuffle the stones in her hand and lay them down on a white background for me to choose my two favourite. I thought this was a great way to choose the absolute perfect stone because it allowed me to pick the stone without any bias. After picking the stone, Lisa knew that I wanted to propose that weekend, but I had come to the realization that this likely would not be possible. To my surprise, Lisa had already spoken to her ring setter and organized for him to set the stone and fabricate the ring in a very short period of time. This was absolutely amazing since some stores had told me that setting could take up to 6-8 weeks.

In addition to Lisa's amazing service, I do have to say the individuals that work at R&R are absolutely amazing to deal with. They are all so friendly and helpful. Every individual there made my experience what it was. They were quick to help and many of them hand modelled for me so that I could see how the stone and setting would appear on my fiancee's hand. David was quick to help me with insuring my ring prior to leaving the store and his father was extremely kind as well. This is truly a one of a kind family business! If you're looking for that perfect engagement ring or any other jewelry, rest assured you will be taken care of at R&R! CUSTOMER SERVICE: If I could give a MILLION STARS, I would! Remi is such a sweetheart and I absolutely adore him and his wife (my fiancé and I also met one of his sons.) Everyone was so sweet and accommodating to my two toddler sons. At one point, when one of my sons got scared of the steamer noise, Remi- personally went eye level to my son to show him how the steamer worked; so my son would stop being scared. As a mama-bear, that’s A++ customer service!!!

I adore the fact that this is a family-owned business and that they’re very intimate and personal with their clients. May the Good Lord Bless them eternally!!

ENGAGEMENT RING: (I’ll make this a two part review).

When I previously went engagement ring shopping, I was told that I was a size 6, when Remi sized me, I was a size 4.75. (Love that they do quarter sizes!!!) I also showed him a ring that I would’ve bought on James Allen (not knowing anything about rings at all), and Remi explained in great detail why I would’ve made a poor choice- based off of the preferences I told him. For example, the ring that I would’ve bought from J.A. was single prong- meaning there was a high likelihood that the ring would’ve fallen out (which was exactly what the J.A. reviews said happened to their engagement rings. No girl wants that!)

I’ll post a part two with my wedding bands. But here’s the pics of my ring- in natural lightning and direct sunlight. Remi gave me exactly what I asked for: a dainty, yet elegant ring that wasn’t over the top LOUD, but not plain either. Remi truly is the jewelry Dr. and for now on, I’ll recommend that everyone goes to R&R Jewelers.

Edit: I’m unable to add another review so I’ll add my update. After a month of use: my ring is beautifully made, practical, and simply elegant. I say practical because when my toddler son brushes his face across my hand/ring, he never gets scratched. Again, A++ for a mamabear.

I get so many compliments on it. It really captures the relationship between me and my husband- one where he treats me like a queen and I treat him...

Earlier this summer, my fiancé, Matt, purchased my engagement ring from R&R Jewelers, and we both could not be happier with the experience and outcome. The store owners, brothers Rami and Robert, both played an integral role in bringing Matt's vision for my ring to life.

Matt, who had a very specific and unique design in mind for my ring, was met with patience, professionalism, and overall outstanding service from Rami from the moment he walked through R&R's doors. Rami took his time working with Matt to help him select a gorgeous pear-shaped diamond, and to execute the design for the band that he had in mind (which includes a matte finish, a pattern distributed around it, and a series of small, round-cut diamonds from Matt's late grandmother's engagement ring). Throughout the experience, Matt had the utmost confidence in Rami's expertise and never once felt pressured by him or his staff. They offered the ring to Matt at a great price--and it was appraised for much more than he paid for it.

I had the pleasure of working with Rami and Robert to make a couple of tweaks to the band after Matt and I were engaged. They both were happy to cater to the changes I had in mind, while educating me about the pros and cons of making such alterations. Upon making a minor tweak or two, they were able to make the ring even more beautiful, and I could not be happier with the finished product.

Rami, Robert, and their staff, are professional, experienced, warm, and attentive, and it was a joy for Matt and me to share in the process of creating my ring with them. I continue to be amazed not only by the great deal of care that they put into the piece, but how highly they value their customers and their experiences as well.
