I offered Rare Book Buyer a Hebrew Bible printed in America- evidently the first one printed in 1815. I actually walked it over as I live quite close and he checked it thoroughly. Adam, the owner, evaluated it and made me an offer. Truth be told, I did not accept the offer and instead put it into auction- sort of hoping for a home run (especially after he got me so excited about it). While it did reasonably well at auction, his offer was right on the money and he clearly knows his stuff. Adam was very quick and thorough in his responses, and I felt an open honesty that is a bit rare these days. I shipped the book off to him insured with signature confirmation, he was prompt to let me know he had received it and looked it over, and equally prompt to mail me a check for the agreed-upon amount.
