True New York lovers? I'm talking to you! If you're looking for the perfect nest for your long-awaited trip, stop here at the Beekman Tower, with Heaven just above you.
You'll be in the heart of Midtown, where the tallest and most mythical buildings are located, immersed in gigantic NYC but just a little off-center so as to be close to the river, in peace and quiet. To tell you the truth, you'll be right between vertical NYC and the more down-to-earth NYC of Brooklyn and Queens. I'd rather leave you with the surprise of the view than take a photo. It's all here...
A bus line is at the hotel entrance and two metro stations are a 10-minute walk away, so you can go anywhere in the city. Midtown and Times Square can also be visited on foot if you're a bit of a walker.
As for the hotel, well, it's clearly an apartment with a FULL built-in kitchen, so you can enjoy 100% of NY's plethora of gastronomy. You'll have ground coffee with machine and for walkers a insulated travel coffee mug that can fit directly into it. You'll have high-quality shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and a bathtub. The bedding is one the best I’ve ever slept in. Except at home, of course. You'll have access to the gym, washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as free coffee (beans style) with all types of coffee types (Starbucks style), 24 hours a day.
I have to tell you about the service too. You're going to have to deal with people who are very devoted to you, who may speak several languages and like to do it just for fun. You'll be dealing with people who call external subordinates for various minor tasks "bosses". That's how much humanity you'll find.
In addition to a number of excellent grocery stores in the neighborhood to fill your fridge, you'll also have access to Ophelia, one of the best rooftop bars in the city, with a hushed ambience that's as chic as it is cocooning. A view fell between the tall buildings and the wider Queens. It was Frank Sinatra's favorite bar. For movie buffs, next door you'll find the Copinette restaurant, the setting for the film French Connection, where the Marseilles heroin dealer enjoys a meal with his bodyguard while Gene Popeye Hackman goes undercover to keep an eye on him.
The room rate is the same as in Times Square, where you won't necessarily get a bathtube, kitchenette, coffee machine, oven, freezer...
For me, it's THE place to be. I'll be back as soon as I'm back in town. I won't show you the video of my room, as I got a great surprise from the hotel and prefer to keep the room number a secret to give me a chance to book the same again when I come back.
At the Beekman Tower, you're at home in a gigantic and...
Read moreWe stayed for 9 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 25th floor and were first time visitors to NYC.|On the plus side, the views were terrific, the hotel location being good for access to many of the attractions and access to resturants and shopping. The kitchen was reasonably equipped with the apartment being generous in size. |On the negative side, "water" was dripping from the ceiling onto the lounge room furniture when we arrived. We were told this would be attended too, and it was, however we could not get moved as the hotel was fully booked. The leak apparently was from the upstairs venue.|The "double" bed in one of the 2 bedrooms was extremely uncomfortable and made alarming noises with every movement making sleep difficult. Our requests to have it replaced were dismissed.|We did however manage to get one of the hairdryers which was faulty replaced.|While our 25th floor location provided a good city views, it was directly underneath the bar/restaurant on the 26th floor. This venue has a very loud DJ on Friday & Saturday nights making any sleep before 3:00am impossible. Additionally, all bar staff and deliveries to the 26th floor are made to level 25 and carted up the fire stairs so as "not to disturb the bar guests". This means there is considerable noise from trolleys, bar staff and merry makers outside the 2 rooms on level 25 most nights, but more so Friday/Saturday.|There were trolleys and mobile racks, presumably for deliveries/rubbish removal for the upstairs bar, routinely left in the lift lobby on level 25 outside the entrance to the fire stairs.|Our dissatisfaction was conveyed to the hotel staff, but were told that the bar/restaurant was not part of the hotel, but they would have a word with the manager of that establishment. If indeed undertaken, it made no difference.|We would not stay at this...
Read moreAbsolutely perfect for families, the apartments are fundamentally comfortable, thoughtfully maintained, and spotless. Let’s be honest: traveling with kids can be challenging. With The Beekman Tower, however, it feels like an absolute pleasure. The Beekman Towers as our base in the city. They are a step above the other hotels when it comes to accommodating kids.
Seeing Hector and Ayman is always a delight. They do so much for our family and over time, have taken on the role of extended family for our children. After every outing, there’s no doubt to expect our kids to sprint through the doors excited to see them; the welcome they receive never gets old, with high fives and personalized jokes thrown into the mix. The fact that they are able to build relationships with our children in such individual and genuine ways is something we cherish deeply.
And we have to mention Heriberto, the new manager, whose genuine warmth and quiet dedication keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. He’s always around with a smile, making sure every detail is taken care of — from maintenance to guest comfort — and he brings such a calm, confident energy to the place. It’s clear he truly cares about both the guests and the team, and it shows.
The location is unbeatable — central, safe, and incredibly convenient for everything we do in the city. Add to that the team’s unmatched flexibility and hospitality, and it’s no wonder we keep coming back year after year.
For us, The Beekman Tower is far more than just an apartment hotel. It’s our NYC home, and we’ll continue to return every single time we’re...
