The only problem with Sei Tomoko is that once you've experienced their service, you'll never want to go anywhere else, especially for the price. From the moment you enter the salon, you fee welcomed and pampered. The shampoos are a massage in themselves and the cuts are precise and exactly what you ask for (I have been stopped may times after leaving the salon to be asked where I got my cut). I've been coloring and straightening my hair for over 7 years, and despite all the chemicals, my hair remains full and healthy. I credit the professionalism and care of my stylist for that. I have been going to Sei Tomoko Salon for as long as I can remember (that means a VERY LONG TIME!) I first discovered this salon as a student at NYU and have to honestly say I have yet to find another to equally compare. Yes, I have tried other places when in a jam in the past but it is never the same and I am not as satisfied (that means I'm never doing that again!) From the receptionist to all the stylists, there is always a sense of friendliness and professionalism. Sei Tomoko is reasonably priced for a high-end Japanese salon. They have an excellent set of stylists who are experienced. Their staff is all Japanese, so it's authentic. I advise booking an appointment weeks ahead. They are open until 8PM on weeknights, convenient for those who have busy work schedules. Mika was my assigned stylist. Overall, a friendly staff.
