SEPHORA — Local services in New York

I went to this Sephora this weekend before Gov Ball and finding out it was delayed so we wanted to stop by here to shop and look around but we left the store after 10 minutes because the staffs would not LEAVE US ALONE. I've worked at retail before so I know what this tactic is and it was super dehumanizing and VERY annoying. The store was low on traffic, less than 10 people in the store but there were a HANDFUL of sephora employees. Every 10 second there was an employee that kept pondering and asking if we need help. It got extremely annoying by the 3rd time only for me to realize, and told my friend 'i think they think we are being sus or stealing". We still walked around and took our time because we were not doing anything sus and 3 more staffs asked if we needed help. we started to get sarcastic because at this point, this is ridiculous. we didnt even want to purchase anything and left immediately because it is so unnecessary to ponder every 2 seconds. we're also adults with full time salary jobs that pay more than employees at sephora. we do not need to steal. this was ridiculous and i will not be going to this location again. i've never experienced...

So excited that a sephora opened up in the neighborhood! I went on opening day and it was extremely crowded but I was helped by the wonderful Jessica! She took her time and patience with me to find the right colors for myself and the products I was looking for. This is the first time I've been so happy to be helped by someone who cares. My previous experiences (mainly the city) rush through you and don't match you well and I've had to return the products on several occasions. The products I needed was everything and more I asked for. Also, with so much influencers on social media it's hard to tell what is good and what isn't! It was nice to be helped by someone who knows what they're doing! Very excited for when they start doing makeup! The only slight downside, they do not carry huda beauty products and not sure if that's something anticipated for the future. I was very disappointed with my recent visit to this Sephora location. I came in looking for a concealer, but there were no associates available on the floor to assist customers. When I finally approached an employee to ask about finding my shade, I greeted her politely, but she did not acknowledge me. I waited, understanding she might have been busy, but she continued to ignore me entirely. At that point, I chose to leave without making a purchase, as I did not feel welcomed or valued as a customer.
