In the short time I've lived in Bay Ridge, I've begun to suspect the neighborhood may be something of a book-lover's paradise, what with the Bay Ridge Branch, a collection of well-stocked Little Free Libraries, and a bunch of quiet cafes perfect for getting a few chapters in. That suspicion was absolutely confirmed when I visited The Bookmark Shoppe.
This was everything a great independent bookstore should be. Wide selection of fiction, nonfiction and kids books (including a shelf entirely devoted to books from and about Bay Ridge), super-friendly staff, and a nice little collection of used books for just $1 each. Looks like they're constantly hosting a bunch of cool events as well. I'll definitely be stopping by whenever I'm in the market...
