I've had better customer service in 3rd world countries than here ( that should say enough). It takes a lot out of me to give a 1 star review but when you blatantly disrespect my wife or myself - that's when I have no choice. During the 3rd Ave Stroll, my wife and I decided to eat here after volunteering our time to set it up for community. To be frank, my wife and I weren't dressed up to paint the town red but we sure did not look no kids. When we got to the restaurant, the waiter was extremely hesitant to give us a table especially one with six ball dressed young women. Eventually we received a corner table. When I returned from the restroom, my Sauvignon Blanc was poured in a plastic cup, like we were bar hopping in spring break. When I asked the waiter, the young Latino told me "today for the stroll we are serving plastic" however when I looked at the table with the models and even the outdoor tables - we were the only ones served plastic cups everyone else has glassware. I tried to make light of the situation because I understand people make mistakes but than he made the most cringe & unacceptable joke "it's because I didn't like you !" I had no choice but to laugh it off but my wife was done right there. He eventually swapped the drinks but he seemed annoyed. The bus boy looked annoyed as well, throwing the plates on the table when served. An old man maybe in his 70's whose been working there for years (speaks no English) also refused to help us to get the young waiter. The food quality was poor, perhaps change of head chef or lack of seasoning. The whole night we were neglected & felt so unwelcomed. I'm not sure if it was a race issue or a class issue but like I mentioned my wife and I volunteered 5 hours of our time to help the community set up the 3rd Ave Stroll. The table with the six women was visited by every single employee on the payroll that evening. For the second time in my lifetime, I chose not to tip & walked away. I never thought I would experience such poor service from a restaurant in Bayridge 3rd Ave district. It is such a shame as I have been a loyal customer for years, now not so sure. I would request the owner or manager to contact me to provide better insight of...

I'm a Lifelong Brooklynite and I have eaten at the best Italian restaurants in New York. This is not one of them. Overpriced and mediocre food that will make you wish you'd gone somewhere else. When you ask the waiter what's popular on the menu and he tells you " anything is good" you need to realize he could care less about you and that it's likely all the dishes are equally as bad. Looking at the Google reviews is misleading, but if you dig into yelp you will see some genuine reviews confirming what I am sharing here. The breading on the calamari was oily, the chicken was hard, I could only eat the corners of the filet. My wife shared a Linguini with clams with her neice and they ate a few bits and left the rest. The waiter pushed deserts which we thought might help erase the bad experience but even those were mediocre. I have no problem paying $180 for 3 entrees, desert, and appetizers, but when the food is lousy it's more like adding insult to injury. This is the kind of place you'd find unsuspecting tourists in Manhattan eating at, it really has no place...

Sofias used to be a wonderful place for a good meal but unfortunately has lost its appeal especially in food and service. Went to Sofias this evening with my husband for dinner (have previously gone and enjoyed) only to be disappointed start to finish. No host/ess at the entrance but rather a disgruntled waitstaff member who asked us to choose a table. Appetizers were good except for the calamari. We did not eat the calamari or our meals (both different pasta dishes) but the gentleman taking care of us did not ask why the food was uneaten. We could barely get his attention because he was on his phone at the bar the entire time. It’s unfortunate and disappointing because Sofias has always been an excellent place so not sure how this happened. I think they understood we were displeased with the meal and service because the two glasses of wine were comped before we said anything but why not ask what was wrong with the meal? Again very disappointed and hope this...

Went here for dinner after a funeral with friends. At first when we entered, I thought it may be too small as 2 of us utilize motorized chairs. However, as we were escorted further in, there was enough space for us. The atmosphere was nice, kind of romantic and the music was from the 80's which we as 50 yr olds appreciated. We were greeted by Luis who is one of the nicest waiters I have had the pleasure of being served by. He made recommendations and all were good ones. The white wine sangria with watermelon was absolutely delicious. The bread.....YUM! Appetizers were so good, esp. the octopus which was my favorite. We also had mussels but no pic since they were gone before I got a pic. The entrees were a nice size, with fresh pasta and sauce. My chicken parm was so tender as well. I got dessert to go because I was too full to eat more. Hopefully my daughter didn't eat them both so I can take a pic and taste them. Will visit again and ask for Luis. 🥰

Just had a WONDERFUL Christmas eve dinner !! Started out with the stuffed calamari - 3 pieces & the mixed green salad 🥗 😋 ( for those who like Romaine, arugula & radiccio, with thick Julienne style sliced beets - this salad's for you ) continued with the linguine fruttti di mare - as you can see from the photos- with shrimp 🍤 clams, scallops & mussels ( on the menu in a red sauce, I requested a white clam sauce - delicious !! ) followed by a single broiled lobster tail - PERFECTLY prepared, with broccoli 🥦 - also perfect & 2 potato wedges - toasty on the outside & fluffy on the inside. Ended the meal with a cappuccino & Italian cheesecake. Luis - the very accommodating young waiter, couldn't have been nicer ( he helped to make it a lovely evening - I appreciate him, & his father, Sergio working on Christmas eve )

Delicious Italian meal in Bay Ridge. Excellent service, daily specials offered. We ordered fried calamari and a caesar salad to start. Calamari was crispy and delicious, caesar was average. My fiance got the chicken special with bacon and gorgonzola cream sauce. I ordered the gamberi ortolana, shrimp with zucchini, artichokes, tomatoes and mushrooms. My fiance cleaned his plate. I was slightly disappointed by CANNED mushrooms and overcooked shrimp. When everything is made from scratch, including your croutons, why would you serve slimy canned mushrooms? Had to take a star off for that.
