Thee Wax Palace — Local services in New York

I needed a last minute wax this morning after not finding a suitable outfit yesterday that covered my underarms 🤦🏾‍♀️. But instead I found a tube-top dress 😎. I googled “top rated” waxing salons in the area and Wax Palace came up. The morning sun was not even up.

I texted the business number inquiring about a same-day morning appointment, as well as joined the waitlist on the website. The appointment slots appeared fully booked on the website (but later I was told I wasn’t seeing any open appointments because I was trying to book on the same day…not necessarily because there weren’t any openings).

I joined Anika’s waitlist at 6:40AM. She texted me at 7:40AM. She came in early to accommodate my request of “earliest time possible” — which is 9:30am — when her first client wasn’t scheduled until 10:30am. Let’s not expect staff to always be by their phones before and after hours 🤭 — but this was a blessing after I prayed to God (‘cuz you not gonna find me up in anybody’s waxing salon). I am grateful for the service.

I went for my my first time EVER for what she called a pregnancy revamp. It’s basically a Brazilian, belly wax and a vagacial. I am 5 months pregnant and while it hurt like hell. She did her very best to make it less painful as possible!!! She gives good conversation and her personality really lets you forget about how bad it really hurts. What really made me appreciate her is after the appointment she took the time out to text me some products that would help my skin and give me post wax care tips 🥰🥰 I will definitely be going...
