Finding the right men’s spa can be challenging. My experience in Time Square Men Spa was no exception. I called in advance for an appointment. When I arrived, I stated I had an appointment and gave my name. They looked for my name and I noted I was the only Paul in the appointment book. He took a step further to confirm my telephone which I found odd. The therapist showed me the room and I prepared myself for the massage.
I waited for sometime before the therapist entered the room. He did not introduce himself and started giving me a massage. I was pleased he was giving a firm massage. Within 5-7 minutes into the massage, Albert (I got his name later) left the room when he heard the doorbell. I was left unattended for over 10 minutes. Another massage therapist, Sebastian, entered the room apologizing for Albert and clarified that he would be doing the massage.
Though Sebastian provided a good massage, I was completely appalled by Albert and his lack of professionalism. He did not introduce Sebastian as the therapist providing the service and he never apologized. It makes me wonder if Albert displays his lack of professionalism to all or specific customers. I am not sure if I will ever return. First impressions are the drivers for repeat business. I am on the fence whether I will...
Read moreI discovered this spa when looking for a masseur to replace my regular guy, who moved away. I like (only) Asian masseurs, and this is what I found here. Plus the spa has some of the best rates for this part of town. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt totally at ease, thanks to the smiling/welcoming faces of the 3 masseurs I saw there. Jimmy was available, and I was not disappointed. I requested "good/strong" pressure, especially on the back and legs... he delivered a thorough and competent massage, accommodating my needs. I left happy and de-stressed. The spa has a "frequent visitor" card reward program, so I know I will return soon... and maybe try one of the other masseurs, just for variety.
Returned yesterday after 2-year absence. Got massage from Philip, whom I remember from before. Still very good massage, BUT was blind-sided half-way through massage when he told me... (1) All prices are $5 more than previous, so my 1-hr would be $65 instead of $60. He said prices were increased 2 years ago... but website still shows old prices! (2) I would have to tip 50% more than before. (I have always tipped well, but I resent being told how much...
Read moreI got a massage from Phillip. To be honest the massage was not bad. Although, he hinted at wanting a big tip many times which made me uncomfortable. I would have given him a bigger tip but when he said we were done I looked at the clock and noticed he had only given me a 45 minute massage when I paid for an hour. Even though he cheated me out of 15 minutes I still gave him a $25 tip which is a pretty generous when you realize it's a 45% tip for a $60 massage! Especially considering I didn't even get the entire hour I paid for. When I went to pay for the massage I asked if they had a punch card where there would be some type of discount after a certain number of visits. He said yes and then showed me the punch card but said I needed to pay first. I paid him the money and he counted it in front of me. When he realized he wasn't satisfied with the tip he refused to give me the punch card. My advice to anyone getting a massage would be to note the time with your massage therapist when he begins and agree the massage is not over until an hour later. And probably get a massage from somebody more honest...
