I wanted to start taking singing lessons but was a bit apprehensive about being an adult beginner. I am very happy that I found Dori because she helped me find and is continuing to help me find my authentic voice. When I first started, I expected to learn complex theory and concepts about the "how" of singing. Dori was able to encourage me to sing as a felt and gave me the space to figure certain things out on my own and introduced technical concepts in small doses while helping me build up my confidence. I am now singing the songs I grew up with and genuinely enjoy the learning process. Her corrections are always delivered in a comprehensive manner and help you stay motivated to improve. I also appreciate her efforts in playing music by Italian artists that I love. If you like a particular genre that is less common, she will tailor the sheet music for you. Giacomo is the perfect teacher for me. I am more used to obsessing over not missing a note and getting caught up on the technical aspects, but Giacomo reminds me that those are secondary to understanding the composer’s intent and focusing on creating beautiful music.
