I feel completely confused about all of the raving reviews of this hotel. It was just OK at best and cost almost $500 for one single night stay. On check in, the very arrogant receptionist with blonde hair and a beard literally laughed at my partner for inquiring about the free valet parking summer special as advertised on their website and wouldn’t even help her get the valet at all. Not sure if he didn’t realize we are paying guests or…? For that kind of snotty attitude, I would expect the hotel to be spotless— or at least one equipped with a single housekeeper? Didn’t seem to be one in sight. Enjoy the disgusting photos I’ve attached.|The rooms are dark, which was expected, but the windows are absolutely filthy and you can barely see out of them from grime. Only one functional elevator for the whole hotel; other one is broken, so expect a headache every time you want to get back upstairs to your room because there will be a line. The music is indeed VERY loud but fortunately we were lucky enough to be housed off the main atrium. Would have been miserable if we had been on a lower floor or facing the atrium (which appears to be 80% of the rooms).|The rooms are absolutely filthy, like think dust and grime balls coating the legs of the furniture, previous guests’ hairballs on the floor, dirty shower curtain, etc. There is a “mini bar” equipped with things like $20 vibrators and $35 Andy Warhol playing cards. Have at it if that’s your vibe, but don’t expect to store any of your own refrigerated goods because the dirty Smeg mini-fridge (so posh) is completely crammed full of wildly overpriced liquor. The cinema downstairs was cute but seating was very uncomfortable; nobody even checked for our tickets! We just walked in and had to politely ask other people who had clearly walked in without paying to move from our seats that we had actually paid for.|Furthermore, all of the railing is bent outwards leaving a very dangerous opening between the railing and a plummet 8 stories high. I would never consider bringing my children here- my 2 year old could have literally fallen through the openings!|Don’t be fooled by all of the glowing reviews. This glorified motel is just a tourist trap. The staff seem very satisfied with themselves and won’t bother to show you any kindness or hospitality. Come for the jazz band if you like that sort of thing, but don’t stay in the hotel. There are so many other choices in Manhattan at this price point that won’t have you sleeping next to a disgusting nightstand with...

From the moment I stepped into The Roxy Hotel, I felt like royalty. The experience was seamless, luxurious, and unforgettable. As soon as I walked through the doors, I was greeted with a glass of champagne—talk about a warm welcome!
When I got to my room, I was surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine and a decadent chocolate cake just waiting for me. It was such a thoughtful touch that instantly made me feel at home (but better!).
This hotel is not just a place to stay—it’s an experience. From the incredible live band performances to their in-house cinema that plays classic films, there’s always something to do. And let’s talk about Django—the on-site jazz lounge. The vibe is unmatched, transporting you to a different era with smooth tunes and a cozy, sophisticated atmosphere.

Everything at The Roxy Hotel screams style, service, and soul. I give it a solid 10/10—I honestly can’t wait to go back. Whether you’re visiting NYC for the first time or just need a staycation with flair, this is the place to be.
I did not want to leave. I was celebrating my birthday by myself. The people at the front desk were phenomenal. They made me laugh despite me trying to find my card, and I left my charger box at home I was a wreck before I walked in that door but everything changed within a matter of seconds just by the two gentlemen’s at the front counter. They turned my frown to a smile. And I definitely appreciate it. I honestly didn’t want to leave. I was celebrating my birthday solo, and walking in, I was a bit of a mess—But the moment I stepped into The Roxy, everything shifted.
The two gentlemen at the front desk were phenomenal. They were warm, funny, and so genuine—within seconds, they had me laughing and feeling completely at ease. They truly turned my day around and made me feel special when I needed it most.
What started off rocky turned into one of the most memorable birthdays I’ve ever had, all thanks to their kindness and energy. I’m so grateful—and I’ll definitely be back.
I even left my umbrella in the room and was able to borrow one from the front counter. Traveling by myself I am like the boy off home alone I’m always leaving something lol or get lost lol Check in 4/5/25...
Read moreThe atmosphere is amazing; alive, fun, classic, and very elegant. ||I got lost getting to the Roxy, because 6th Avenue and Avenue of the Americas are the same thing! Who knew?! When I arrived to check in, I was a bit flustered and embarrassed for calling several times from the road. Kye was at the front desk and welcomed me with a smile. I explained that I was the person that kept calling and he said, “Let’s get you a glass of Prosecco, if that sounds OK.” “YES,” I replied! He then hooked me up with a beautiful room, a bottle of water, and treated me like a queen. He said, “ I’m here every night you are here, so if you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Soooo kind; I immediately felt better!| |The next night, I got back to the hotel after midnight and Kye was already off work. My room key wasn’t working. The front desk was busy, and in trying to find water, I found Stevie at the restaurant/ bar. He spent 30 minutes going OUT OF HIS WAY to get me into my room and even gave me two complementary bottles of water! It was definitely MY fault for storing my room key with my phone, but HE apologized and grabbed me two bottles of water for my trouble! Truly lovely, and like Kye, he went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience at The Roxy Hotel.||Finally Zillah epitomized customer service with a kind word and a smile when I needed help adding my NYC- based daughter to my reservation. She was so very friendly and kind! ||It is employees like Kye, Stevie, and Zillah, that make a hotel stand out! I have stayed in at least 10 hotels in NYC over the past several years. My family is returning in November and we will be back to The Roxy! I had an amazing room (it was BIG) with exceptional style! The bed was actually comfortable! There were drawers and plenty of closet space. The in-room mini bar was incredibly well stocked including salty, sweet, alcoholic, non-alcoholic, and personal necessities such as tooth brushes and charging cords with multiple connectors! The bathroom was spacious, beautifully decorated and functional! The Roxy was delicious food, a great bar, a clean and elegant environment, a fun musical atmosphere (with white noise in each room if you just want to tune everything out) exceptional customer service and a really comfortable bed! ...
