MY CHIC NAILS — Local services in Newark

The lady who did my nails had bad attitude and responded rude. Although services were above average , the way they treated me as a customer was pathetic. Her responses had a bad tone. Also they don’t accept debit/credit cards. Even though my bill was around $100 they wanted cash. They had boards mentioning $25 or above are accepted by cards and when I confronted the board at the counter she responded on a rude manner. I don’t understand how they expect people to carry $100 cash in a world of digital payments. And then i asked her ( seeing the sign board of zelle ) if i can zelle her, she accepted. She kept answering me they don’t accept card in a super harsh tone when i was being polite. She could’ve been more courteous in letting the customer know that the sign board ( payments of $25 and above are accepted via cards ) was no longer valid and she could’ve offered more options saying the customer could zelle if they didn’t carry cash. It Was raining and i had called a friend for help. Even when i gave a 14% tip she sounded unhappy. I’m not going back there in a lifetime. I have been looking around for a new nail salon for about 2-3 months in the essex county area and IVE FOUND IT! I'm VERY picky when it comes to my nails. I am thrilled that this gem is perfect for me. I was a walk in, they accommodate right away. I didn't feel rushed. I got an acrylic set, they were not too bulky , or thick, which can sometimes happen. The nail technician, listened to my requests, the shape was perfect and establishment was clean! My hands feel very feminine, which is interesting to say but she made my nails feel lightweight and they look amazing with the gel polish. My Pedicure was VERY THOROUGH , nice clean scrub and polish. I highly recommend. Only downside would be parking but there is a parking lot across the street $8/up to 1 hr , but beware they scam , got me for $16 because I was 4 min behind 1 hour. so if you can find street parking please do so. Anyway if your tired of feeling like cattle in certain "nail salons" or treated poorly you will feel welcomed here! They DO NOT treat you badly as if your not spending your hard earned money and they do a great job! Found...

I went to this salon on 7/14 for a scheduled appointment. The location itself is nice, but the staff was not welcoming. It seemed as though I was bothering the ladies there, even though I had called in to make an appointment days before. When I was ready to leave something really odd happened. I asked the lady that is stationed directly next to the reception desk if I could schedule an appointment for two weeks later and she asked if I didn’t want to call in. First, if a client wants to reschedule for a later appointment that should tell you that they like the service and would like to return. I then asked if rescheduled was “ok with her”, she replied yes, but with an attitude opened the schedule book. At this point I was totally turned off. If you are providing a service why would you question someone that would like to make another appointment for two weeks later. Needless to say my nails looked average (great pedicure) but taken the nasty attitude of some of the staff my overall experience was not pleasant.
