Dyed Watermelon from Leppinks Newaygo! Bought this watermelon from Leppinks Newaygo on 7/24 and had to return it to the store on 7/25. The watermelon was artifically colored, the cotton ball shows it!
I spoke to the store director Dan and was told that he knew nothing about this and I should not go after him, and should instead call Spatan that supplied these watermelons. Well, I did not buy it from Spatan, I bought it from Newaygo Leppinks! No apologies, very defensives, reluctant to take responsibility, it is how I felt from the conversation with Dan, the store director of Leppinks Newaygo!
Dyed watermelon could be harmful to your health. Depends on what kind of chemicals they injected into it. If you bought them from this store, you may consider to return and report to the health department.
You know what? I visited the store again today and these watermelons are still there for sale.
Does Leppinks always claim that they care about the local, the community, the quality and the customer service? Does Leppinks have any quality control for the products? A middle-aged gentleman immediately stopped his task, smiled and led me right to the empty section. Darnit. But, ok, thank you, Sir. He was immediately empathetic and was supercool, personable.
I've added 3 stars. Wish I could remember his name! Ugh. I'll find him. I look forward to the next visit. $aved $47. I'm so happy. Good work ethic and...

I was deeply offended during my visit to LePinks in Nuego City. Upon entering the store, I was approached by a staff member and asked to leave my personal backpack at the counter, even though it was securely on my back the entire time. This request felt not only unnecessary but also insulting, as it implied that I might be attempting to steal simply because of how I was dressed.
Being profiled in this wayâbased solely on appearanceâis unacceptable. I expect businesses to treat all customers with basic respect and trust. Unfortunately, my experience here left me feeling singled out and disrespected, and I cannot recommend this store based on how...
