Morton Grove Coins & Collectibles — Local services in Niles Township

Absolutely Hands down one of north west Chicago’s nicest and kindest coin shops around. (Along with Niles Coin shop of course) I went in the other day and was greeted by a little furry friend. The dog was so cute and the staff 🤩There were so polite and courteous, 🤗🥰I called them prior to going there about selling prices and to my amazement the owners nephew made a mistake, and they actually paid more for my coins!!!! And of course, I know nothing about silver coins and stuff like that they could’ve easily bamboozled me!!! like good, honest, hard-working Americans they were truthful and treated me like a human being!! I have been to coin shops where the workers seem to hate the fact that you even walk in the door, which is ironic, because without us, they wouldn’t be in business. Go figure…..

Anyways I just want to say these guys are awesome!!! Kind of like family what can I say? I know they’ll never forget me, nor I them…. Customer is always right with these guys!!! Love this place! My son, who is 15 in a few days, developed an interest in coins about 6 or 7 years ago. We are lucky to live right around the corner from Morton Grove Coins and Collectibles. Dave, Tom and everyone else have been very supportive of my son's interest and have encouraged and educated him every step of the way. My son and his brother have spent countless hours sitting in the store going through buckets of pennies and they have always felt welcome. The folks there have gotten to know my son's specific interests and now when I walk in needing a gift for my son, they are able to select the perfect items and always offer us a fair (and in an attempt to encourage my son's interest, often a more than fair) price. We have visited other coin shops in the area and the staff have completely ignored my son. I guess they figure he isn't going to be "much" of a customer, so instead of working with him to become one, they just don't bother. UPDATE 12/13/2024: I have been going here now for over 15 years and don’t bother with any other local coin shops or online dealers anymore. Buying or selling scrap, bullion or coins, this place is the absolute best. Dave is a huge asset to the local community. His honesty, reliability, relatability and solid pricing make him and his shop the go to place in Chicagoland for all of your coin and precious metal needs.

ORIGINAL REVIEW. I have been coming here on and off for 10+ years. I have always felt the dealings to be extremely fair. David runs an honest shop. Whenever I want to grab gold or silver or platinum, they are one of my first calls. Being in the same location for so long breeds confidence. Support your local coin shop. Don’t buy online.
