When I first dropped off my Honda/Simmons pressure washer, I told Greg that it looked like water was in the oil reservoir. Greg immediately dismissed my claims of water in the oil reservoir and said, “There is no way that water could go from the water inlet into the oil reservoir.” I tried to ask Greg a simple question, “Is it possible for water to go from the inlet of the pressure washer through the pump and into the oil reservoir.? Greg immediately flew into and rage and didn’t want to discuss anything about water going into the oil reservoir and stated, “You don’t know what you are talking about,” and immediately scratched out the initial write up description and wrote something different on the work order. I tried to explain to Greg, that Nixa Hardware had worked on another pressure washer I owned and it also had water in the oil reservoir and the mechanic told me the same thing he just stated. Nixa Hardware found out there was a way for water to go through cracked seals in the water pump and it would fill the oil reservoir. I thought I had the same problem and would help Greg by explaining what the other repair facility had found. Greg didn’t want to hear any of my conversation and in a fit of rage, verbally dismissed me. I told Greg he would have an “epiphany” moment when he found out water could travel through a cracked pump seal to the reservoir. I should have walked out the door with my pressure washer and it would have saved me the experience I had today when I picked up my washer. I initially was talking to Alan about my pressure washer and he stated there wasn’t water in the oil. Alan showed me what water looks like in oil from a Google stock photo and I explained I was very familiar with oil in water and I too had a lot of experience with motors and was a Captain at a major airline. I tried to ask the question again, “How is it possible for water to go from the inlet into the oil reservoir”? Greg, once again flew into a rage and said he wasn’t having this conversation again and started yelling at me once again. I told him he had terrible customer service and he wasn’t professional and threw in a few colorful words to reinforce my view. Greg, immediately verbally threaten me with physical violence and said he would, “Throw me out of his shop and throw my pressure washer in the trash.” Alan, had to step in to calm the situation down. It appeared to me that Alan has had to do this before. Never in my life have I ever been threatened with physical violence in a place of business. Don’t worry Greg, I’ll never be back or recommend...
Read moreI dropped off my tiller 03/24/2025. When he was helping unload it i told him exactly what was wrong with it ( gas went bad & messed up the carburetor ). He responded back that the $55 to determine the problem would be deducted off the bill. I was told that they are running 2 weeks or less on their schedule. I agreed with it. I called when I was in the area on 4/02/2025 to see if by chance if they were able to get started on it. I could tell by my conversation he was upset that I called ( the only time I called ). He told me not to call him - he will call me. He did call me on 04/08 to tell me what was wrong with it ( I already told him but it would be deducted off the repair ). He told me that they don't make carburetors for my model and he does not use cheap carbs from Amazon. He said he maybe able to rebuild it ( carburetor kit ) but would not guarantee his work. So I came & picked up my tiller today and when I got there Marty was told that I didn't want to pay for the repair which in turn I responded i dont mind paying for work and declined a repair that he would not stand by. I asked him for a refund of the $55 which was answered quickly with a no. I was told I did not tell him what was wrong with it so that's why he kept the $55. When I told him I did he got even more upset and told me to get the f* out and he's calling the police all before I got a receipt. He told me your right that I get a copy of the receipt I signed & here's your receipt that says something something & I signed which I was told twice to sign. Then a repeated get the f* out of there. Marty helped me load the tiller and I left. This was my experience. You can make up your own mind if you feel comfortable doing business with Greg's Small Repair Shop, Nixa Missouri. This review is NOT something I enjoy doing but, felt like I needed too. I edit this because I put 2024 date when...
Read moreI had Greg check my mower to get it ready for mowing, he done a leak down test on the engine and said it was weak, checked other things and determined it was a bad engine, said he could do a new engine change out just like the one on the mower for $2800 complete, i told him to do the new engine, when he returned my mower to me the bill was $3400, i ask about the $2800 quote and he said it just took more, i was shocked but paid the bill, he said when there was 25 or so hours on the engine that he would come back and turn up the rpms on it. After the engine had about 35 hours on it i called Greg and left a message that it was ready for the turn up at his convenience, 3 weeks went by and I called Greg again, he answered and I told him I was ready for the turn up, he responded with I don’t do mobile service any longer and he left me that message, I told him I never received any message at all and that he said he would do this, he said I would have to bring the mower to his shop if I wanted it done, he said again I could bring the mower to his shop that he would not come to me, I told him that he was not a man of his word, he upped his price and now won’t finish his job and I should call ky 3 and maybe they could pay him a visit, he said he wasn’t going to argue and hung up. I now have a $3400 engine that is not running correctly because he won’t stand by his word. It is sad that he has so much talent and became way to greedy and not a man of his word. Just...
